Yes it is safe to install. Ford had pulled the "unsafe" version this is it's replacement. Jesse had looked and approved a week or so ago
Have the same hanging for mine right now I intend to install next weekend ? good luck!
Thought I saw him posted that but couldn't remember when and when he posted I checked updates for my truck too but nothing. I'm going to sit on it even more! Haven't had any issues that requires me to bring it to the dealer for 7 months now which is a record after almost 2 years of ownership and 47K miles. Just going to enjoy it taking me from A to B reliably for now.

Well, 8 hours and a couple of Guinness beers later, I am all up to date. Process went extremely smooth, but that's mainly due to the wealth of info on this forum.

Fullscreen AA and Alexa work perfectly. A big thanks to everyone on here.

Just noticed a new BCM update was available. Anyone know what's this for and safe? Was not there a few weeks ago when I last checked. Last update I did was the APIM early January.

Send me your vin. There is a bunch of back and forth going on with the BCM right now. People are getting an OTA for the BCM and then FDRS is showing a BCM update that rilss them back to the previous update.

So those that I tell to go forward with are on OLD versions PRIOR to AAH.

So I would feel better checking your vin and seeing the situation.

Do you know what it is that’s being rolled back or why there is a rollback?

Did I miss that somewhere else?
They release an update. It fried Headlight modules. They pulled the update. Those that had done the update have the roll back available to the previous version.

Now an OTA is rolling out the update that fried headlight modules and those that get the OTA now have an Update to roll it back in FDRS>

Its a seasaw back and forth.

It is a complete rollback to what the BCM was prior to the update that fried headlight modules.

Ah ok, I was tracking the headlight frying update, and even the rollback from that. I guess I just didn’t realize Ford was still trying to unfry them lol.

What a cluster fuck

@JEB got the BCM update today via OTA> Now in FDRS he shows a BCM update. If he were to do that update it woudl downgrade him to what he had prior to the OTA>

Its kina wierd. The other thing that is going on the OTA that updates the DDM/PDM is not in FDRS. Typically when an OTA rolls out it hits FDRS also. It has not.

There seems to be a disconnect now between OTA and FDRS

That doesn't sound good.....I just got an OTA today, I assume it was a BCM like @rugedraw said, Fordpass says "trailer position/license plate lights.

So that heated mirror update is OTA only? I used to work for Ford as an engineer in a manufacturing plant and there was a lot of dumbass stuff that Ford corporate rolled down on us. But this has got to be even worse. I just don’t understand how and why they do what they do sometimes

As of now it is OTA only. It is the 2023 PDM/DDMFiles.

I have done a network scan and nothing is showing in FDRS except the BCM roll back

In your case this would roll you back
Roll back? Is that a good thing? I never installed the bad BCM, I wait it out then it was removed from my list. I haven’t noticed any issues.

Only reason I checked today because I finally got an OTA update out of the blue. 22-PU1009-TLC-CSM
