No worries. You are just waiting for your truck and spending that time........ Well, you know. Lol

What else is a fella to do? :)

Nothing tricky about the oil change. I put a fumoto valve on the pan and now can change the oil basically tooless, no jack necessary, and not a drop on the ground.
Although tooless isn't exactly true because a ratchet with an oil filter end cap makes it Effortless to loosen the oil filter that it seems like I put on just a month prior.

The only potential gotcha is that the factory drip tray under that oil filter will allow oil to flow to either side of the crossmember. So depending on the slope or the rake in your truck, you need the drain pan to span the two potential exits.
I put a Fumoto on my 2004 4Runner V8 when I first bought it, still own it, and will put one on my 2 week old 2023 PowerBoost. You didn't mention it but (for others' benefit) I'm sure you add a piece of clear vinyl tubing onto it that sets it deep into your drain pan.

With all the F150's made, somebody surely sells a 3D part that could clip onto the oil FILTER drip tray somehow, and direct it into one spot (maybe a cylindrical spigot ready for another clear vinyl tube as well?).

Anybody? You 3D guys show your faces and start a side business for your kids, and end up on Shark Tank ?

Congrats Jeff ( @Uncorked ) on your impending 3.3 XL!

Here's the oil change procedure and the specs section referenced therein from the Workshop Manual (2022 but for this should be the same for your 2023) to keep you occupied while you wait.

Note that the diagrams are after the applicable text and may be on the page after the applicable text because of where page-breaks fall when printing to PDF.

Hope you enjoy your new truck!

:)

It isn't terminal OCD to read your owner's manual before you get your truck, it's just a prudent way to pass the time ;) . (y)
These are great!

Do you have these same pages for the 2023 Tremor V8? I'm curious which skid plate(s) I will need to remove.

This video shows the process on the 3.5L PowerBoost, and then here's the Fumoto addition.
Wish I would have watched this prior ... would have saved quite a bit of time and prevented the oil spills after removing the filter.

oh, did you need an extension bar and if so, 3", 6" or ?
No, I just put the filter wrench cap right on the handle. The combo of the flex head and bent handle allow it to seat on the filter and avoid the mess of piping there.

I would love an explanation of the fumoto valve. I have played with mine a bit but haven't yet installed it.
