Appreciate the feedback @RcFlyer330, @Gros Ventre, and @JExpedition07! Skid plates are nice, but they do make for quick location and orientation a bit more difficult. Especially for this broken down old codger....

Anyway, confirmed the truck has a metal plug and metal pan; ordered the ValvoMax.

You mentioned looking for the filter. It's on the front of the engine down on the lower drivers side. You have to reach up then back into the only logical "hole." There's precious little room. If you are using a socket drive you'll need a u-joint. I've found that the "claw" type filter grabber works fine.

Coming from a 5.0l 2018 with a plastic oil pan and yellow plug, I was pleasantly surprised to find a metal oil pan and standard plug on my new 5.0l 2023. Guess I don’t need to order the Ronin Factory easy oil drain plug!

It’s also nice that the oil doesn’t hit the sway bar on the new truck and splatter all over the place like it did on my previous truck.
