Hey all, I did search for this in the site and didn’t see anything specific to this scenario. Looking for thoughts on what it could be:
‘21 job1 PB, just turned 70k, levelled on 2” aluminum pucks, no other suspension changes.

problem: when stopping, a grown/growl(seems) to be emanating from the front driver side. Happens when slowly stopping, ev coach has brake line in the middle, but happens less under hard braking. When just about stopped, noise goes away when speed is around 4-3-0. No noticeable feel in the brake peddle. Brakes are good, rotor looks good, running 18’ with winter blizzaks.

could this be a hybrid power train issue?

How loud? And I hope this doesn't offend you, but are you sure it's not the Pedestrian Sounder speaker?

Any chance you could (safely) make a recording?

loud enough to hear over the radio at low volume. (Radio loud enough to talk over) - I can hear it. I haven’t tried sitting in the passenger seat while the wife drives yet…. Not sure if it is worth the scariness that entails to test for a sound..(wife driving that is…lol). Not the pedestrian sounder… I know that sound all to well and it’s driving me nuts. But this is more of a vibration, internal sound. I thought I felt a little pedal vibration today, not sure.

Yeah, I was thinking of trying that. Not sure if the mic will pick it up over the other noises, but will give it a shot.

Clearly, your vehicle is possessed and burning it to the ground is the only viable option... Just kidding (obviously), best of luck finding the root cause and definitely report back once you have found a solution.

My rear end is making a similar noise. I need to bring it in.

57k miles, put new tires, and realized it was not the tires. Mine makes the growl the most when using the most electric braking possible while showing down. But it makes the noise all the way up to 30 or so.

It is not my pedestrian alert because that is disabled on my powerboost.

Interesting, is it also when going up to 30 or just when braking?

Hrm, 4WD engaged / stuck? Have you had any sw updates done to the truck?

Do you have an area like a parking garage where you can get more outside feedback to listen to. Man you've got some miles on that truck!

I think I may be in the same boat, although mine isn't easily reproducible. I hear an occasional faint moan (maybe a slight grinding) when going at slower speeds from the front driver's side. PowerboostedF150, was yours always as bad as you described, or did it develop over time? No luck at the dealer because (surprise) it wasn't doing it when the tech drove it.

HammaMan - I was thinking the same thing about the 4WD. I came from a 2013 which had a vacuum issue that affected the IWEs. I believe IWEs are electric now on the 14th gens so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot them.

it seems to come and go, since that post it has gone away, but did sound a little today.maybe temp has something to do with it. I think it was -5 when it was louder, but hard to say. It’s a definite growl sound.
I bought mine used out of town at a dealer. Local dealer said they would charge the diagnostic fee (180cdn)if they can’t find a bad part to charge ford. So I have been avoiding the dealer with these little issues until I can point them to look at something specific.

it literally sounds like there is sand under the brake pad! (No sand around here!), but when stopping below 4km/h on the speedo, it does away! But the brake pedal is still on. So strange.

I'm still trying to track it down myself. At first I thought it was the active air dam as it almost sounds like a motor struggling, but (from what I can tell) the air dam is acting normally.

Have you run across this thread? https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/intermittent-hum-or-howl-from-front-end.13723/
I stumbled across it this morning and sounds just like what I'm experiencing. I never put together the timing and steering correlation, but everything described in the thread seems to be a trigger for me: I only started noticing it when the weather got cold, it rarely happens going straight (in fact, I can only remember it when turning right but can't be positive) and occurs soon after moving out of park (it's not only on cold starts as I fueled up after being on the road for several hours and it happened when the engine was definitely warm). I'm going to try to pay a little more attention and make sure my symptoms correspond with what was shared in that thread and hopefully have a little more ammo for when I go to the dealer next.
