Demon growls when stopping

Yeah, I saw that thread, I think that’s a different problem, but the analogy to an abs motor is spot on the sound. Drove 80km each way today, and it did its growling coming to a stop. It was parked for about two hours (0 degrees c), then I started it cold, had it run for a few minutes, then leaving (on a little rough road, still paved) it seemed to be growling at low speed while driving without the brakes on. Sounds like abs motor growl. Turned the corner, got onto smooth road, sound went away!

So I went back to the dealer on Tuesday and dropped it off not expecting much (these intermittent noises never happen at the dealer right?), but to my surprise, the tech said they heard it on the test drive. They're going to replace both front-wheel hubs because they were both making noise (they did say the driver's side was worse which aligns with what I heard when driving). Unfortunately, the parts are back ordered so I won't know for a while if it's the problem.
