My truck will turn on the fog lamps / cornering lights at low speeds. I notice the driver side but I don't feel it really lights up much, especially to the side where I would expect to have cornering lamps do some good. I can't even tell the passenger side is working until I get in my garage and turn the wheel and I notice it does light up. But if I don't even know it is working then it clearly does me zero good actually on the road.

I know I can disable them. I never use fog lights. Can they actually be useful if I adjust the aim or something? Or will they always be pretty worthless?

I've been a few other cars with dedicated cornering lamps (not just turning on fog lamps) and it works pretty well to light the direction you're turning. But the F150 ones just seem pointless to me.

The one on my truck are pretty much useless.

I once had a Mercury Grand Marquis. It had excellent cornering lights.

The F150's fog lights are aimed low - like ridiculously low. You can adjust them in about 30 minutes without having to take a wheel off or anything. Once raised they work great.

In the photo below, you can see where the left light was raised to become usable, and the right is where it was from the factory.

This was one of the first things I did to mine. Makes a huge difference in the fog light/cornering light usability.

I leave my fog lights on all of the time, plus Bambi mod.

I think you are missing the point; in thick fog the beam needs to be low to prevent reflected glare. Your raised beam will be pointing upward when viewed from an oncoming vehicle. I agree they are pretty much useless as cornering lamps except perhaps, when slowly navigating around an unfamiliar driveway or parking area. Although not an issue in warmer climates, higher beam angles will be a nightmare in blizzard conditions, but again, that's not everyone's problem.

How does one turn them off?

Valid concern, definitely. I have no aspirations of joining the league of eBay LED headlight users that seem to populate the roads around here.

I aimed the fog lights per this thread so that they are still aimed downwards on a slight angle and I haven't had anyone high beam me when using them. They were a lifesaver in last week's series of snow squalls and the fog we've had out this way earlier this year.

Ditto. I used the same thread to adjust the fog lights. My '22 Platinum auto adjusts the low and high beams and have had no oncoming drivers flash their high beams. I really appreciate the cornering lights and consider them an important safety feature.

Fair enough! Although I live in Windsor ON Canada (near Detroit) I have not yet encountered a major snow squall in the 2 years I’ve owned my Tremor. I haven’t given a lot of thought to the fogs as my Glare-free (adaptive) projectors are arguably the best headlights that I’ve experienced. Shame they’ve been removed from the 24s but that’s a whole other topic.

OK, maybe I'll do some adjustment, if it actually makes a difference on cornering effectiveness.

Is there are general "acceptable" level? Like bottom of beam 20" off the ground?

Pretty sure it is a quick change in FORSCAN. Never used FORSCAN myself but I believe I saw this listed as a simple fix.
