... you know, pouring jugs of fluid down a funnel for 45 minutes is a bit less than fun.

… and so is lying under the truck with a hand pump pumping 1/3 ounce per stroke. At 90k I’ll get a bigger tube.

LOl, I am trying to think back to when I was 18 years old and vehicle maintenance . I honestly can't remember ever changing the oil much less transmission fluid! I spent most of my time then chasing skirts haha. I am sure I did the oil changes because that's how my dad raised me but I defintely don't remember. In my defense, back then the only cars I could afford were pretty much shot when I got them...:)

Go to Menard's and buy a pump sprayer. Melt the spray end of the hose into a hook. Pour your ATF in the bottle pump, and pull the lever. It doesn't take that long and goes well.

Buy a cheap pair of welding gloves from Harbor Freight if you really want to be safe.

I put two more quarts in than I got out.

yeah, the pump sprayers worked pretty good with transmission fluid. Not the best in the world with gear lube.

So I’m missing something or did you overfill your transmission by 2 quarts on purpose?

If you have more than a few vehicles.... Invest in something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099N7KHLQ

I used this so far to do the tranny job on my Sequoia & Armada. works great. the plastic is much thicker than those hose end sprayers. Buy once cry once. (with 3 SUVs & 2 Trucks... all V8's) it is worth the investment for me.

My point EXACTLY! :like:
It's a very good point.

I've ordered the Kevlar arm sleeves as per your suggestion and am going to check the level after this next cold front moves through.

I plan to do it per the manual.

NICE garage and lift setup!

Bringing the trans up to Ford's recommended temperature for a fluid level check can be a challenge, and some have had a more difficult time than others.

If you have never "broken loose" the fluid level plug/dipstick, you may want to do that first when the trans and exhaust are cold. Once you've broken it loose, tighten it back up just enough to seal while you drive warming up the trans. When the whole fluid exchange is complete, you will want to properly retighten the plug.

It will be beneficial to have the numerical value of the trans temp turned on (using FORScan), if you haven't already done so.

Wow……2qts low, that’s a lot.
Seems many have been low on fluid. I checked my level shortly after getting the truck. I got lucky, level was good

Which quickjack do you have? I have a 5000 tlx for my C8. Haven't had a need to use it on the truck yet.
