  1. Electronic toll collection fuse? That's new

European, I believe. The circuits are also included in the Ford Wiring Diagrams book.
  2. "Build Sheet"

There was a time you could go on line and get a "Build Sheet" which included a list of specific parts used in the truck's construction. This was an internal document and listed code numbers and part numbers for scores of modules and components. I have the window sticker from the truck, but am...
  3. Adding weight to bed for ride quality

Back in High School days, we'd grab a manhole cover from some decrepit part of town to weight down the bed in the winter. Got hit once and watching the iron disk levitating - in slow motion - at the rear window cured me of the practice.
  4. How screwed am I?

Here in NY, I'd just buy the parts and fix it on my dollar. Otherwise, my insurance would increase by $3000/year for four years. State laws. Good thing it's all bolt-on parts. Almost kind of clean, fun work on such a new truck. Just guessing, but maybe $2K in parts?
  5. CAFE Standard is History - Will the PowerBoost be cancelled

The only thing for certain in this environment is uncertainty. Must be very difficult running a company like Ford when the regulations and economics can change with each election. So I suppose Ford will take a middle road, keeping options open. Maybe they'll ditch some clearly unpopular...
  6. upgrading to Push-To-Start on single cab XLT

My '23 Expedition has a keyed ignition and a column shifter and I looked high and low to find it. It only has 41 programmable modules in it and two turbochargers. Old school for sure.
  7. replacing the fiber board trans cover with a metal one ?

Try parts.levittownfordparts.com. Their prices are pretty good. Tasca is no longer an option. Zero customer service and no returns.
  8. Changing 10R80 Fluid cold? Is it possible?

Why is it that when we were 18 years old, none of this was a chore?
  9. Changing 10R80 Fluid cold? Is it possible?

... you know, pouring jugs of fluid down a funnel for 45 minutes is a bit less than fun.
  10. Gen 14 Uncomfortable Seat Fix - Foam From F-250 Seats

Unfortunately the true test is how they each wear-in and flatten out after 60,000 miles of my big rear bouncing them down...
  11. Gen 14 Uncomfortable Seat Fix - Foam From F-250 Seats

I'm not sure about these years but the earlier ones had a soft plastic channel embedded in the foam that was used in the cooled seats. When I replaced seat foam in my '08, the only Ford cushion foam available had that ductwork.
  12. Changing 10R80 Fluid cold? Is it possible?

@Mosey, does it take two hours to get the fluid from the funnel through that 4-foot tiny hose when the fluid's at room temperature?
  13. Gen 14 Uncomfortable Seat Fix - Foam From F-250 Seats

Nice information. Thanks for posting all this!
  14. Changing 10R80 Fluid cold? Is it possible?

If I'm dropping the filter to change the screen, I drain them using a $6 plastic mason's mixing box (the tub for mixing concrete) from Home Depot. It's big enough to catch the drips and spills along any cross member or pipe. Then I pour the contents of the box into containers to measure what...
  15. Locking the doors?

If I leave the garage door open for ten minutes, someone will be rummaging inside it. Same with a car parked on the street overnight. This is New York these days. No consequences to bad behavior and no right to protect your physical property from "those in need".
  16. What are these buttons by the exterior lamp switch?

I'm sorry, I meant to write Yes, I do wish the instrument screen can be dimmed more without the heater and radio buttons disappearing. Even on its dimmest, the speedometer screen is very distracting.
  17. Strange no reverse stop on steering wheel shifter

The Expedition police package with the column shifter still has the detent and no automatic park mechanism.
  18. XLT to Become "ACTIVE"???

    Ford Tough!
