Only time will tell but new Wally World H8 has made a world of difference in my truck. I have had several OTA updates and no more "system shutdown please charge or drive your truck "warnings.

I got a great deal on some of the ones made out of similar material as oem front ones...more of a fiber/cloth texture. I really like them on my silver truck...didn't like the light wheel wells. As far as cleaning so far I haven't had to do anything extra.

Do you need to do anything to check for updates in the app? When I have had a successful one I get a green indicator or check mark beside the ' software updates" without clicking on anything?

As others have said weak battery will cause updates to fail. In my case the battery tested good...load test and voltage . I could charge it until it was 100% and updates would still fail that night. When I installed the larger new H8 it immediately took an update that evening.

Just another update on the truck after replacing battery...truck received it's third ota update last night . Three in exactly one week after only getting one the first 3 months of ownership.

One day my plan is to locate some smooth mirror caps and paint to match my truck. I am going to try the rattle can method with factory paint /clear. I believe I can do it and make it look pretty decent.
