Can ford brand remote start be added to a 2024 xl?

Hi all,

Title is self explanatory, if I buy a 2024 xl can I have ford branded remote start added to it? I'd like to have that feature, but I don't want any aftermarket modifications to the wiring if I can avoid it. In fact, I'd probably just not get it (the remote start setup, not the truck) if I had to have something aftermarket added. I may have a line on a '24 rcsb 4wd, not sure if it's available yet.

Assuming you can link/connect via Ford PASS, you will have remote start off your phone.

Unlike RAM and possibly other brands this does not require a subscription service to use. Simply download the app and link it to your truck..... your dealer should do this for you before you drive off the lot.

Agree...the ford pass set up is part of dealer delivery sign off sheet

Check out this part from Ford.

I had the dealer install it on my truck (2021 RCSB XLT). The cost for my installation was $60 but I see that the cost is now $210.

You will need a hood latch switch for this thing to work.

You can verify that you have such a switch by opening the hood and then turning the ignition on. If you have the switch there should be a hood open warning on your instrument panel.

You could install the module yourself. There are instructions available from Ford on the internet. It will probably need programming to work.

It works for my uses and does not require that I carry my cell phone – only my keys.

I did not need a new key fob as the system requires a series of key presses on my existing key fob to operate.

Your experience may vary.

No splicing into other wires.

Hi, all Have a 2024 STX. I purchased and cut an extra Key (4 button) with the remote smart 2x button. Got the key programed to the truck. It locks and unlocks and starts, but no remote start. All the remote start options are enabled in the non-asbuilt but no luck.. any idea on what code needs changed in the as-built data to get this to work?

Nice piece, but with it and install, your looking at about $600 if you have dealer program it.
Start X, can use OEM fob, 15 minute self install for under $150

Looked at the start X but it is $189 for the 2024 right now. I can get the ford part for $195. Just need to find out if anyone has successfully programmed it themselves without the dealer?

You could try out 12volt Solutions, but I am not seeing 24 listed.. used them for my 17 F250, used the existing key fob with some programming.
