Remote start options.. '22 XL

I want something I can control without the phone app. It sometimes lags, and I'd like to be able to instantly start my truck with the auto climate on and get in a few minutes later more comfortable. I was going to buy this product, but then I read that ford has one that is cheaper and OEM. Is this accurate? Is this all I would need? I do have this in my menu, no clue if this means I only need the FOB or I still need that perimeter plus system.

If it makes any difference I've found that my app based remote starts are much more consistent and quick if I just wake the truck up by re-locking it first with the fob.

My "Key Fob" works instantly.

But I use the app more than the key fob.

If you are able to remote start via the Ford pass app then I see no reason why this wouldn't work. Your truck clearly has the hardware needed to do a remote start, it's just a Metter of programming that fob to your truck. I'd bet anything it has to he done at a Ford dealership. I'd probably check with them prior to ordering since it's non refundable.
