My XL doesn't have the key fob remote start (I’m not worthy ??‍➡) but I can remote start the truck through the app and it automatically cranks up the windshield defrost until I put in the key in the ignition and then everything settles down.

My Ford app remote would not work, so I called the ford app people. The lady said, use the lock first, then open button...then the remote start, and it worked.

Now, that being said...that was about 2 weeks ago and now it's back to not working...FOB works....so I'm thinking it's a battery thing. I'm having all the "usual" stuff that's been talked about on this forum due to terrible Ford OEM batteries...I'll be changing them soon.

So far my '23 still keeps the seats on high during remote (App or FOB) starts under this colder weather, even with the latest HVAC update.

Somehow sometime in the not so distant past, my heated seats are now not coming on with my remote start; they used to for the last year, but they haven't been the last few weeks.

Well I checked all the settings I found in forscan and they all seemed to be set to what would seem like they should be. The only change I made in forscan was the setting to remove black box from the reverse camera. The next couple of mornings the seat seem to be heating up on remote start with no changes that should have affected it.

Now having made no other changes a few days later my seat doesn't heat at all even while I'm driving. It doesn't matter if I'm set on level 1 2 or 3 I get no heat out of the seat yet the wheel still works.

Interesting how these over the air updates work . Everytime something mysteriously stops working it seems.

I wonder if it is to protect the battery? Idling is hard on battery, so limiting what gets turned on would help prevent draining it. I noticed on my screen the other day when I opened the door with the truck running from a remote start that there was a message on the scree saying it was off to preserve the battery.

My truck just updated and "poof" now the heated seats and steering wheel do not come on with remote start. So frustrating.......
Hopefully they fix it with the next update (yeah right).
