And that’s the limitation. We can’t adjust for changing weather conditions. A module limitation or something. Do other manufacturers allow for that?
I'm not sure if they have an aftermarket one that goes by outside temp. That's what I was trying to figure out about start x. Still not 100% sure if it does or not. If I end up getting it I'll definitely post my findings.

What I don’t understand is why starting using the app it can alter the climate control but not the remote. My STX automatically runs the heated mirrors and rear window if it’s below 32, and cranks the heat anything below about 50. It doesn’t matter where I left the have knobs, it also know to turn on the A/C if it gets hot out and I had the heat on that morning instead.

It does that for you when you remote start via fordpass or fob? I haven’t used either much since purchasing except to see them work.

edit* I reread and it automatically heats below 50 and cools when it’s hot using the app. Good to know!

I thought you can set that on sync screen even when you don't have it on fob?

I have mine set to auto. So far it is working better than my 2011 that would pick up on engine heat and decide to freeze me on winter mornings by not running heat at all.

Mines an stx as well. In the sync you can change auto or last set . Mines in auto. But I was looking at remote start from fob instead of just app. I could've sworn I read on the start x page that it only does the last set. I was trying to find someone that has start x on one of our trucks to find out for sure which it is. I guess I could see it only doing as last set since its an aftermarket remote start system and just cranks the truck .

I'm not sure how my xlt works on remote start but it changes to last setting when I hit the start button. I will say that I have never had a truck defrost as fast. The other morning I hit the remote start and guess I did it wrong so when I went out it wasn't running. Turned on max front defrost and it started melting almost immediately. My ram would take a while like every other truck until the engine warmed up.

I have starter X and it uses auto setting when you remote start it. When you turn the key to run it goes back to your last setting. When it is below 50 degrees it always turns on rear defrost and leaves it on when you turn the key to run. I have an XL.

See your the reason I asked this question. You have xl and I have xl/stx. You have one installed on your truck and knows it'll use auto until you turn on key. The video he says it uses last set during drive. He may not have it set to auto on his sync or something.
Thanks for the input it helps me alot

Does the start x seem to work pretty decent in your opinion

STX doesn’t get a fob with shiny parts? C’mon Ford!
No shiny parts but we do have a switchblade. Lol.
You'd think theyd rather have same type of fob across the trims to cut down having different things made.

I have a STX/XL also. Works great never had a problem. If you do pull it out and then put it back in you will have to reprogram it. I would think the same if you change your battery. Just make you keep th instructions.

Thank you for the input. Makes me feel better knowing someone with the same trim has it and it works good
