Remote start and HAV system question

When using Ford Pass remote start or pressing the start button without the break, the fan comes on but no cold air. If I start the truck the compressor comes on and cold air comes out.

Is this normal?

Short if something being wrong in your vehicle Remote Start settings, I would say you have a problem. The AC compressor should definitely be running with remote start if the interior temp calls for it.

Thanks, right now only the fans come on but do not blow cold air. Well will add this to the Ford service when I take it in for the harsh downshifting (it stays in 8th gear at a stop)

Truck needs the motor running to turn the compressor.

It is my understanding that when remoting starting (in auto mode) it will turn on the AC or the heat depending on the outside temp. Right now in the hot summer, just the fan comes on but not the compressor, is this a service problem?

If the settings are set in Sync, then it will cool and heat depending on temperature. If you have the auto setting on, then you do have an issue the dealer needs to look at.


SWITCHING CLIMATE CONTROL AUTO MODE ON AND OFF

1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2. Press Remote Start Setup.
3. Press Climate Control.
4. Select Vehicle.
5. Switch Auto on or off.

Note: If you switch the auto mode on, the system attempts to heat or cool the interior to 72°F (22°C).
Note: When you switch the ignition on, the climate control system returns to the last used settings.
