I'm more impressed with my PB than I expected to be. Batteries aren't mysterious black boxes, it's just a battery. If resale in your area is less than other motors, my guess is it'd be due to ignorance of the platform from those that make the purchasing decisions around there.

This thread is why about 4 months after purchasing the Powerboost I started regretting my decision. It's just one more thing to go wrong.

Now after 18 months of owernship, I can see the hybrid function does me no good anyways.
That sucks, sorry too hear. I love mine. The Hybrid long with the 7.2Kw option, has allowed me to power my camper when the campground had none, and power my neighbors house durring an outage. The extra torque comes in handy too:cool:

Surely you don't have to look hard to find Powerboost owners that are, as you put it, proud to own their truck?

They are amazing trucks in so many ways. I'm only disappointed that nobody has come along yet to one-up it. ??

The only hint of such a thing is Ford themselves with the SuperDuty tease.

OMG, the over-reactions are killing me. Shit happens. Think positve, ask for help when you need it and help others when they do. This forum has wealth of information to help us troubleshoot things. I'm a new proud PB owner. I'm sure my truck will need something at some point, but when, not if the power goes out at my house I'll be even more proud of being a PB owner. It must really suck living life just waiting for the next "disaster" to come along.

Yeah, quite a bit of sitting. You can spot when the LFP aux batt gets out of its bulk capacity range and the under hood AGM begins to enter the picture.

I assume your LV SOC logs is the voltmeter connected to the underhood AGM AND therefore represents the voltage of the combined batteries, rather than an isolated auxiliary battery?

And if so, that LFP is "propping up" the static voltage above 13.0V for days consecutively?

Yes, that's the typical parallel PB batt config and the LFP is 'floating' the AGM at 100% SOC until you see it sag below 13 roughly and then they're both going to 'share' the load as voltage drops (as happens on 10/6). Connected up the AGM charger that's more than enough to make the LFP happy. LFP is fully charged at 14.6v

This is roughly where the curves meet -- LFP voltage curve is unlike most other batteries as most of its energy is available in a nice flat voltage. Most of the time the truck is resting at 13.25v +/- .05v.

That's fantastic.
So are you happy, or still working on the BMS of the LFP?

I've nursed my OEM batteries (both AGM) and once I hit 1000 days, I might jump on your experiment where it currently is. At least if there's no gotchas that I have to be seriously concerned with.

This is the cheapo 30ah LFP in the aux box -- its BMS isn't configurable.

Custom BMS would be required for under-hood LFP swap.
