Hey everyone.

I got the messages that my truck was in deep sleep and to drive it for a bit to fix it. I've seen others post this before. The next morning, my service vehicle soon might came on and a wrench icon on the screen illuminated. After driving home a few miles and shitting off, I restarted and everything seemed back to normal. No more light on dash and ran fine.

My question is, it's the deep sleep usually caused by the auxiliary battery under the back seat? What is the best replacement battery for that? I've seen a lot of posts about bad batteries from Ford.

Thanks for any help!

Ford documentation suggests the primary role of the auxiliary 12 volt battery is to support the 12 volt system during the process of starting the ICE. I doubt your problem is the auxillary battery.

Many of us feel that constant vigilance of the 280 volt and 12 volt primary battery state of charge (SOC) is required to avoid situations where there is insufficient power for the primary systems to operate normally.

Brings up a question. When doing maintenance charging of the main engine batt, will the aux batt be charged? If not, should it be charged too but separately?

I run my fan on high, be it manual or automatic. Others here have reported the charging system has a dramatic increase in charging doing this. I have never has this issue resolved Ning my fan on auto high.

Yes. It’s wired in parallel with main AGM battery.

Sitting in my Lazyboy in the RV reading this thread while watch Colorado/TCU football.

I launch the Bluetooth app that reads the static voltage of the 12V battery under the hood of the Powerboost parked outside. (yes, it's actually the voltage of both batteries since they are not "isolated" when the truck is off)

You can KNOW if your truck is approaching the Jekyll/Hyde behavior that seems to be possible at anything below 12.3V?

Amazon purchase is ~ $25

Remember that both batteries are connected to each other 99.999% of the time. They're in parallel just sitting there.

First thing to try -- keep your HVAC blower on setting 5 or higher, all of the time. It's not too much air, I keep it on upper vents. The back seat vents are part of that so if you want less air you can include feet vent, or make sure all 6 upper vents are open (including 2 rear seat vents).

If that doesn't make you happy after 2 weeks of doing it, you can replace the under-hood AGM with a quality aftermarket. Many have reported good success w/ that.

The deep sleep mode is so the truck's electronics will not result in a draining of the battery and prevent starting the engine. It is working as intended. If you cannot start the engine that is a different matter and I would start by having the battery tested. I had to replace the battery on my 2022 truck which was not able to hold a full charge and so I had multiple low voltage related warnings as a result. New battery and no more problems.

Opinions on the Diehard platinum H7 AGM battery..... It is my main battery that doesn't seem to hold more than 55% charge or so. This is after charging to 100%. Charging system is fine.
