Only a few minor issues with my PB, not ones that leave me stranded. Aside from that I’ve got 11K miles on it and the most I’ve run through my 7.2 system is an electrical kettle and charging drone batteries. I bought it because I like to camp in the middle of nowhere and love the idea of plugging in lighting, stoves, Traeger etc. I am not anywhere near to using its full potential but that’s ok. It’s nice to know I have it when the “big one” hits here in SoCal. Or you know, when our electrical grid can’t handle the summer needs which is yearly. No ragerts

Thanks for your clarifications as always. Not trying to ruffle feathers - my PB was awesome in a ton of ways. I sold the PB because of the offer I got on it lol. For alot of situations, there's not really much better than what the 3.5l and electric motor can do together. The new 5.0 I think is just a little overlooked and great for my use case.
You left an opening with the “better mileage period” so I had some fun. I knew what you meant ?. The 5.0 is a great motor and since it’s much less powerful than the Powerboost drivetrain it should get better highway mpg. ? I’m doing it again

I went from apples to apples (in terms of options) 2021 Powerboost to a 2022 5.0

The 5.0 gets better highway mpg period.
The powerboost gets better mileage in the city on trips > 5 miles.

The powerboost is much faster at altitude, but the 5.0 absolutely rips on e85 at sea level.

Idling on electric and the generator are almost worth it in of itself, but in CA, 2.99 e85 saves a ton vs 87, even accounting for mpg loss.

I was happy with both but slightly happier with my 5.0
I still have yet to try E-85 but want to, can’t find any here in Buffalo NY. Most dyno’s on the stock tune running E-85 show about 420 horsepower/ 430 lb ft of torque at the crank when you use the common 1.17 multiplier from the wheel. Pretty impressive. Something definitely changed in the 21+ motor. Most stock on premium 93 I have seen put down 350-360 rwhp which in a lot of cases is more the the GM 6.2 sees at the wheel. There is some under-rating going on on Fords part methinks. Especially on the torque, the wheel torque is considerably high, 390-400 lb ft on E-85 at the wheel in many scenarios.

On the flip side the dyno’s I have seen on 87 octane were unimpressive in stock form ~385 hp or so adjusted. The 5.0 definitely prefers 91+ octane which is no surprise given the static 12.0:1 compression. It’s definitely gimped on regular gas now.

Purchased the 2021 F150 Hybrid Lariat. I did this for the comfort and did not want to have to plug in.
My major issue is that the dealership technicians are not trained on resolving hybrid issues. We all hear about the numerous problems, hard shifting, banging during shifting, severe lack of acceleration, blue cruise wandering, poor mileage, B&O sound issues, side mirror issues, generator failures and a lot of minor issues.

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck BUT,,,these issues take it's toll. Too much time in the shop for a Brand New Truck, The other issue is due to the numerous problems, the Hybrid has lost more "value" than any other truck on the market. It was expensive with too many issues. Lemon Law Lawyers are flying around......

Absolutely no regrets. I have 2, a 21 and a 22, both lariats. The gas mileage is worth every dime, 20-25 mph and i have o remember to fill up. I have used the gen several times and will use it more going forward when taking the camp trailer out.
If i have one regret, it’s that ALL newer vehicles have too much electronics in them. And people have forgotten how to drive, far too much assistance. But thats another thread.

i'm strictly asking those who do not use powerboost only features (extra towing capacity, onboard generator, etc) frequently like i do. a part of me wish i had just bought the 3.5 ecoboost. less headache to worry about down the road with the hybrid system. more mods available for the ecoboost too. powerboost's mpg seems underwhelmed. anyone in similar boat?
Just tried to order a 2023 f150 limited to replace my 2022. The 22 is a ecoboost and that's what I wanted to order. There are no options on the 23, it has to be a Power Boost which I don't want.
Will have to downgrade to Platinum which I don't want to do. Sad...

I have a 21 Lariat 502A. Only issue I've had was very early on with some of the reverse sensors and related to taking the tailgate off for spraying the bedliner. Since then, only maintenance.
I'm pretty happy with it. The generator is very nice when camping, it's comfortable for long drives, and plenty of power.
I do wish it got slightly better mileage. Overall I think I'm at around 19.5-20. But I live at altitude, with lots of hills and where it's cold in the winter. And I use 4x4 with some frequency in snow or off-road. So less good mileage than those of you in warmer, flatter places is understandable. If they ever offered a plug-in hybrid variation, I'd jump at that. Full electric is probably not an option with what I use the truck for until battery/charging tech improves A LOT.

If I had the scoots it would be King Ranch all day, I think she’s a lot prettier than the Limited and I love the two tone. But $70,000-$80,000 is too much dough for me to reserve for a truck at this stage of my life.

I enjoy smoking ecoboosts every chance I get. That alone is worth the money ?
That's just Ford saying that the 2023 Limited F150 is limited to ONLY the best of everything! ???

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Look at you getting in on the game! We used to have a saying growing up in Texas- "It ain't braggin' if it's true." ;)

I got a white/two tone standard King Ranch PB. No rear placard, no sunroof (I have had on cars for 35yr and virtually never open), no power tailgate, and no power running boards.
Just what I wanted; nice and sublime.

King Ranch standard 600A PowerBoost 2WD
Sorry I was not clear
Max tow, 7.2KW, 360 camera
I even got the Front Sensing System, which the build sheet specifically excluded
Exactly what I wanted (except 20” wheels)
So far I have replaced a defective 12V battery

You were clear and that’s a great personalized build. Beautiful. I was attempting humor again. KRS version as in King Ranch Snakebitten version…
