There are many thousands of them that are having no problem whatsoever.
I have a 2021 Powerboost (employees use it) and a 2022 KingRanch Powerboost, and had another 2021 Platinum Powerboost for a year.

None of them have ever seen the dealership after delivery.

That doesn't mean that the issues posted here on the forum aren't real. Of course they are. But they are a tiny sample and strongly weighted towards those with issues. The very nature of a forum. And rightfully so.

Special ordered waited 10 months to get this truck .( I think it was just a badtime buying ). A new truck . Just coming off of Covid .. The Supply chain is not so great . I had All different types of Fords never had a problem like this . Before I bought this truck I had a 2019 f150 3.5 No Problems whatsoever . I'm just saying I just regret buying this vehicle at this time

I don't tow yet either so in that sense I've yet to fully take advantage of the generator. Eventually I'll get a TT to enjoy that piece of it. A big bonus I appreciate is the hybrid running the ac, seems like a small feature but one I really appreciate. This is my first truck and when I started down my research rabbit hole I was drawn to the v8 options for that sound. As I took a closer look at things and realized how cranky I've been getting as I get older, the quietness of the PB was another big selling point when it's kicked on. I imagine this is true of other ecoboosts with them fairly quiet too, but when then when the rev show 0.0 rolling around town or sitting in a parking lot with the ac blasting....ahhhh. Also when you're driving into the deer woods on electric, that gives you a better chance out there for stealthiness right?

No ragrets

I went from apples to apples (in terms of options) 2021 Powerboost to a 2022 5.0

The 5.0 gets better highway mpg period.
The powerboost gets better mileage in the city on trips > 5 miles.

The powerboost is much faster at altitude, but the 5.0 absolutely rips on e85 at sea level.

Idling on electric and the generator are almost worth it in of itself, but in CA, 2.99 e85 saves a ton vs 87, even accounting for mpg loss.

I was happy with both but slightly happier with my 5.0

What's your MPG with e85?

I cant say
Imagine if you will a bed that can go from 5.5 to 7.5 via slides and little door thingies with telescoping driveshaft. Is that too much to ask for? The larger bed wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for parking. That's the appeal for the 5.5 screw is that it's good-nuff for parking. Though having a few degrees of articulation in the rear wheels (rear wheel steering) would be nice too.
My 05 was a 5.5. I opted for the 6.5 because I was going with a retrax cover and wanted to have the same effective bed area. Man, What a difference in parking lots! Thing drives like a limo!!

My only regret is that I didn't read this forum in the weeks leading up to purchasing my PowerBoost. Had I done that, I may have waited a few months to get a 2021 Job 2 truck.

My 2021 Job 1 PowerBoost has been in the shop for a running total of 150+ days, and we're not sure if the problem has been addressed yet or not... anyway, it's a great truck with ~99% uptime. The problem is that the 1% downtime is always inconvenient, mostly unpredictable, and generally infuriating. Like someone else mentioned, it's the "Stop Safely Now" + no start condition.

That's interesting. Running e85 it gets better fuel mileage than the PB on 87? That's something I have not heard claimed yet. What speed range does this miracle occur?

Amazingly, I can get 19-20mpg at 70mph with no wind on e85. Pretty surprising. It may not be true e85 they are putting at the pumps out here, but its only 4-5 mpg less than what 87 nets me at that speed and 60% of the price of gas.

I think he means that the 5.0 on the same fuel as the Powerboost gets better High Speed fuel economy.
I'm reasonably open to the suggestion in certain situations.

But he left himself open to the E85 response based on wording. You hawk you. ?

No the PB got ~22-23 mpg highway at 70 on 87 vs about 24-25 for the 5.0 on 87.

If I only ran 87 my overall average would be about 20mpg on the 5.0 vs what was about 22 on the PB, because the v8 loves drinking downtown.

I just brought up e85 because the cost per mile where I am on the west coast is much lower with it

Thanks for your clarifications as always. Not trying to ruffle feathers - my PB was awesome in a ton of ways. I sold the PB because of the offer I got on it lol. For alot of situations, there's not really much better than what the 3.5l and electric motor can do together. The new 5.0 I think is just a little overlooked and great for my use case.
