Wow. They work. Holy crap. The transition is epic. It’s so smooth it doesn’t bother your eyes at all. I didn’t see how it does when a car comes by but once I went over 33 and it was dark on the road they came on. This will help me a ton with safety when I drive cross country with the travel trailer.

Now I wonder if adaptive is on by default or not. I don't see it in the menu, maybe I need to add it with forscan. I should be able to tell just by making a sharp turn and watching the beam pattern?

Apative lights move with steering. Anti Glare respond to other vehicles and light sources.
Then they are already in America. I have LED projector adaptive headlights now. They auto dim the high beams too but that’s not the adaptive function.

I can drive down my street to work in morning and any turn of wheel the lights turn. It's fun. :)

I often drive THROUGH the woods at night to get to my tiny house. Those left/right projectors are so cool.

The high beams are progressive with the enabled AHL. Not a simple high vs low (dipped and angled to roadside), but a continuous “adaptation” to oncoming traffic. I first witnessed this in the Kokaholla highway in BC Rockies. The lights would go full high, then gradual easing down as car approached, resuming a gradual upward path after vehicle passed. Worked seamlessly with the cornering function. Truly a technical marvel!

Oh that is next level right there! My Subie's projector low beams are nice and bright as they follow the curves, but the high beams will just turn off and turn on automatically. They don't blend with the low beams seamlessly like you're describing. How cool!

Just checked the Outback forum and in other countries their high beams do what Subaru calls "beam forming" where the high beams remain on but "look away" (my description there) from on-coming cars if that makes sense.

Beam Forming is likely the same technology that is being discussed.

It IS European modern vehicle lighting technology.

I don’t get the opportunity to experience it often - mostly urban driving.
But when the conditions are right, it is truly amazing.

Looking forward to a thanksgiving road trip for a week to a GA cabin, and some dark backroads. ?

and i saw in this old thread about stop signs at slow or stopped , where the lights go back to low or appear low, just flick the stalk and you can momentarily turn them on full bright to see across the road...
i learned alot of about them on my early morning journeys . you can over ride to full bright and then go back to glare free etc with just the stalk, say if you on a dark dirt road crawling at 5 mph

Yup this works, but a few more extra steps, when you want to be concentrating on that blind corner coming down the hill towards you as you are pulling out with possible traffic in your blind, blind spot!

This intersection is a wye coming into the tail of a reversed S bend curve on a hill. Speed limit is 60 kmph but it is not uncommon to have the traffic cruising at closer to 80 kmph and you are craning your head backwards to see the traffic you are going to merge into from a complete stop that is obscured by the B post.

This does not stop me from using the anti glare headlights. Now that I am more used to how they behave and function I generally flick the light control on the steering column before I get to the intersection, then go back to anti glare once I am safely cruising at or close to the speed limit.

With all this new fangled technology, my beef is that there is no reason to limit the anti glare headlights to above a speed, they should be usable from zero and up.
