I just made these changes but really didn’t notice any difference. Seemed like low beams were on and every now and the the fog light would turn off then back on when I slowed down. I have the new menu settings and glare free is turned on. I have checked and rechecked all of the entries and they are all good. Am I missing something?

I was expecting more from glare free, but it is better than standard auto high beams. It's most noticable along the shoulder when you're driving. If it is too bright out or there are street lights, you may not get anything more than standard low beams. The system also doesn't do great with windy roads when someone is in front of you, or oncoming traffic with someone in front of you. If you made an the changes and the auto high beam icon turned green (be the original white) the system should be working though.

I assume no warnings when you start up?

What you should see when it’s working is the high beams will now ramp up and down (brighten and dim). You have to be driving ~35 mph before they kick on. The high beams will brighten and dim “around“ cars as they come into view. It’s not a harsh on off like normal high beams. If the system is active you should have a green headlight indicator with a “A” inside in the instrument cluster (lower left). Unless you do the “Bambi“ mod the fogs will kick off when the high beams are active. That is normal operation even with the US standard auto high beams.

I think it’s value depends highly on the type of roads, traffic, and ambient lighting conditions where you drive. In general, I feel, it’s always better than the auto high beams. Under the right conditions it’s pretty phenomenal (compared to the standard) in my opinion. It’s all relative though.

Having driven them all over in different conditions I’d say it‘s worth the effort to activate for pretty much anyone.

You Forscan pioneers blow me away. The tenacity that it requires to figure these things out, then the generosity to share, making it easy for me....... I'm 3 trucks into the Forscan Era and it just keeps getting better.

Thank you fellas

No warnings and have the green indicator with the A inside. I’ll have to go drive more tomorrow night and test on different roads. Could be I wasn’t on dark enough roads. Thanks for the replies.

Definitely agree that it's better than standard high beams. The roads I'm driving on too/from work are limited in how useful it can be though due to street lights and bends in the road. If you can find a very dark/long/straight section of road with 1-2 cars, that would probably be the best place to test it out and see how it does.

I just did these changes with a short bed no scales/ccd and everything seems to be working great but now I get a doo dee doo chime sound when in reverse. Any thoughts?

PS this is amazing!! I just went for a drive and had a car in front of me with no oncoming traffic and it turned on the outside brights to light up the sides of the road.

Nothing in the changes should have created a new chime directly. At least not for anyone who has tried it on various different trucks to date.

just a couple of general things to check if it persists:

-check to make sure you only changed the values required for the mod. It’s easy to accidentally change the wrong thing. I still do it on occasion admittedly.

-check the menus on your sync screen and make sure something not on that you had set off before. Parking sensors is the only that comes to mind for me. I have noticed occasionally when writing a module some user setting will revert to default setting.

- Possibly it’s completely unrelated and just poor timing. Running a DTC check is one way of verifying something not completely in the wrong config, but it won’t catch everything.

Sounds like the lights are working though. Glad you like it!

Mine go through some sort of calibration every time I start the truck. They go left, right, up, down and then settle.
My limited does the same, pretty cool !

Its funny you mentioned this, I thought I was seeing things. I too experienced this recently where there were no on coming cars coming towards me and it looked as if the ditches on either side of me we much more visible, lol. Love my Limited PB

Thanks. I’ll check the values tomorrow. Is the easiest way to restore from the backup I made before making the changes again? I’ll check dtc’s as well.
I did a little digging and I think I know where the issue might be.

IPC 720-01-01 was one of the lines you needed to change for the glare free mod. Within that same line is in a different position the backup warning chime.

For glare free you need:
IPC
720-01-01 xx8x xxxx xx

Backup warning chime is:
720-01-01 xxxx xx*x xx

Factory for me is a "6" in that position. No backup warning chime. If a "8" was inadvertently in that position it would enable the backup warning. This same position also controls the seat belt warnings, so I suspect your driver and passenger seat beat chimes (minders) are also now disabled assuming you have an "8" there right now.

If you set IPC
720-01-01 xx8x xx6x xx
all should be correct in world. If you want to leave the seat belt minders disabled substitute "0" for the "6" above.

Hopefully that helps.

Thank you very much for this!! That was my issue was I put the 6 in the wrong position. Thanks for figuring all this out it’s a great addition to the truck. You wouldn’t happen to know if I can change pro power to default to off on startup would you? I have the 2kw and if I forget to put my back seat down that fan is loud. Lol.
