Is anyone able to get a video or pictures of their installed 7.2kw inverter from under the truck? It's on the passenger side about a foot inboard right around the rear passenger door.

I'm looking into the possibility of upgrading my 2.4kw to the 7.2kw and have been reading about the coolant lines and when I check mine, I see coolant lines on it and I do have the 4 wires running to the back of the truck.

I did a lot of research on this several months ago when truck shopping as my local dealership had the exact truck I wanted minus the 7.2kw upgrade for the PPOB system. I saw lots of threads on here and the other F150 forum claiming it wasn't a simple upgrade due to different wiring but no one was able to provide evidence of that. A couple people though claimed it was a common wire between the systems and one person claimed to have done it themselves and provided OEM part numbers for the swap. I looked for the exact post but it seems to have disappeared from my browser history. The total cost of the swap assuming it was truly a common wire was around $1500 in parts (and required some forscan changes) which is double what it would be to just buy what you wanted which is what turned me off to the idea.

I ended up getting a different truck from another dealership with the upgrade so it was moot for me in the end. I can try and grab some pics for you though but it will be a few days until I can get under the truck to take pics.

That would be great, thank you! I swore I also had a post saved with someone who did it, but can't seem to find anything now.

Hoping something like this (this was from under my truck). I can see the coolant tubes and the inverter label.

I was able to grab these, all from the "middle" looking towards the passenger side:

here is a close-up of the label:

and the orange cables coming from the engine bay:

Happy to grab more if you are looking for anything else. Now to go get all the salt washed off... :D

I bought an inverter, hopefully the right model and the bed plugs, now just have to wait for everything to come in and will probably need additional assistance in getting it configured with forscan or fdrs, but if it all goes well, i will make a thread

Did you buy the bed panel with the additional plugs as well?

Edit: nvm I reread your post. Good luck! It would be nice to have some definitive proof if this upgrade is possible or not.

The inverter and panel are supposed to be delivered this Sunday the 2nd, probably won't have time till the following weekend to give the installation a shot. Assuming they are the correct parts.

Received the stuff today, all the part numbers match what I was expecting and look to be in good shape. Will make an attempt at it this weekend if I can make the time.

I'll make sure to do good documentation and if it all works out, I'll make a new post on how it went.

Just be sure to clamp the coolant hoses into and out of the inverter closed before removing them. Top off the coolant bottle and it should burp itself

Do you know if it’s required to drop the exhaust? The Ford guide says too, but I’d really rather not
