Ford reports the moonroof as a 64lb penalty. Still not ideal if you're targeting payload, but it is not as severe as made out here. The real impact to payload is the cumulative effect of all the relatively minor features, as well as those bundled with trims offering the moonroof in most instances.

Attached are some pages from a 2021 guide that was floated a few years back; cannot find anything newer that may include other options not listed here. If someone has access to that, it would be good for reference.

That is almost to RAM 1500 country level of payload ... I looked at your window sticker - the bed cover weighs at least 100 pounds, the twin moon roof is probably good for 150, the spray liner maybe 20 to 25, the power running boards about 50, the extra trim pieces maybe 25, the hybrid I would think about 300+, stereo upgrade maybe 25, extra seat components, insulation and other bits probably 100 ... my guess about 800 pounds over standard. So the pre option payload was probably about 2000 pounds ... at least you have a nice truck to drive!
Yup...my 2021 Limited was around 1200 Lb payload. My 2023 platinum seemed like a great increase at 1400 lbs

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
It is surprising how quickly "sticker" payload disappears being a homeowner just trying to buy some bags of mulch at home depot.

No bulk mulch available nearby?

Scads cheaper.

That's the thing, I could easily put 2k lbs in the bed with a 1500lb payload sticker and it still sits level or even still ass high, yet onboard scales is crying like a little bitch, you're over weight, I'm calling mom.

Yet it's still 108 over my old Tundra Crew Max,
Ford F-150 2024 F-150 Platinum Plus payload sticker - 1195 lbs tiresticker

But wait it gets worse. The Gulf Sates distibution Center added the TSS package (running boards spray in bed liner, 20 inch wheels. Look carefully you can see the tire pressure is a sticker over the original 18 inch sticker.

Then they add this sticker to take away another 153 lbs.

Down to 1087.

The payload calculation assumes that each available seat is occupied by a 150 lb person. It is also based in part on the wheels and tires.

My Chevy 2500 came with a factory payload rating of 2800 lbs and it was limited by the tires that had a 2100 lb at 80 PSI rating. I replaced the tires with ones rated for 3750 lbs at 80 PSI to increase the payload capacity.

IF you are saying that the sticker payload number assumes that there are any occupants in the vehicle, that is 100% incorrect.

The sticker requirements established by federal rules (the same for both USA and CA) explicitly state that NO occupancy is assumed for the purpose of the mandated payload disclosure sticker; that's why the sticker reads "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed: xxx kg or xxx lb".

The same rules do dictate that the weight of a full gasoline tank (whatever size is OE to the VIN) and all other fluids required for normal operation are included when the sticker payload number is derived by the manufacturer.

Exactly as stated on the sticker, the weight of all occupants and cargo must be subtracted from the sticker payload to determine the available remaining rated payload.

i would’ve jumped up to a 502A and added moonroof lol. didn’t realize it’s a PITA doing all of it afterwards.
I usually have the stereo on but when I don’t, the creaks and rattles from it really irritate me. At least mine doesn’t leak though, so far.

Haha true that!

My Platinum is loaded so it ends up with a very low payload like OP. My plan is to tow a small utility trailer for things beyond a couple hundred lbs.

In case anyone is wondering how low a payload sticker can get, here you go. Also attached the window sticker for reference.

As people know, the 2024 F-150 Platinum Plus (703A) comes by default with the towing package.

This means that with two adults and one kid, plus 200lb of "stuff", we can tow a 5,000lb trailer and that is it.

I think it is due to it counting all accessories which were factory installed, including the tonneau cover, spray in bedliner, and all the optional stuff that comes with a 703A (massaging seats, power running boards, etc).

I have a 23' Lariat with short bed pretty much loaded out. My payload is 1520. My last lariat without panoramic sunroof or deployable running boards was 1740. If I remember correctly my XLT I had years ago with no sunroof and short bed was just under 2,000.

This is just a reminder that these are light duty pickup trucks. They're supposed to be the Best of both worlds.

My local dealership said when people are turning in their old f-150's many are considering getting a super duty. Because of the price increase on the 24's. I built a 6.5 bed Lariat F-150 and it is almost the same price as a Lariat gasser super duty. So if you need the payload you might as well make the jump.

Weird - my 2024 Platinum plus had 1317lbs payload. Not sure how you get to 5000lb towing?

my wife and I are 320 together, add 80lbs of tools, and we tow this and not overweight on any axle, or gross combined. Actuall
