I’m interested to know if anyone’s figured out how to do this on the newer trucks on my 2024 and 2025 it would not let me into anything resembling the previous engineering test mode and there is no AFE bias adjustment
It’s a weird thing, my truck being a good example, the rear axle is good for 4400lbs, but spring pack as equipped is for 4150, and the GVWR is not based on the combine axle, frame capacity or any other technical limitation. So features reduce rated payload pound for pound.
As for the legality...
Honestly, GVWR isn't a failure point, my entire truck is well within it's limits, axles, tires GAWR, (those are the safely / handling / failure items) Gross Combined, etc. I focus on what can be an issue, not what the tow police cherry pick.
My family consists of me and my wife, (320lbs) and...
It's fine, axles are under rating, tows well, nothings overloaded. Also, it's not over GCWR......it's a stretch to say that being over GVWR is an issue, at all.
And you clearly don't understand how insurance works.
Excellent observation! Yes, I should go one more link, we have a hitch part that is galled so I didn’t want to go tighter till I replace it, and, it tows really nicely, and the axle itself is rated for 4400#, the spring pack for 4150#, so wasn’t sure I wanted to chase compliance.
I actually...
Yep - people choose to not understand loading and weight distribution, or is everyone super fat? I don’t get it.
That’s said, the OP has a ridiculously low (and likely bound by GVWR, not capability) payload number. I avoided getting max tow as it has the stronger axle that breaks all the time...
Weird - my 2024 Platinum plus had 1317lbs payload. Not sure how you get to 5000lb towing?
my wife and I are 320 together, add 80lbs of tools, and we tow this and not overweight on any axle, or gross combined. Actually rear axle over by 30lbs, my mistake
Mine jiggles over bumps, all the time, makes the chassis feel like a wet noodle, I have 22’s with 305 Toyo C’ rated at 35 psi, seems like a lack of rebound wheel control.
Wonder if ford zapped my changes…
If someone is aware of a Forscan hack, I’d be surprised as this has been going on for six years with the diesel F150’s, just now on 2024 PB’s - but I’m open to it for sure…. But I looked and can’t find anything other than PCM controlling those, which isn’t accessible through Forscan.
But I...
It didn't unplugged on my 2019, 2020 or 2022.....
Only the diesels used to cause a CEL.
Do you have a picture of which slats you removed? For 2024, it has to self calibrate and pass or I will see a CEL even if the actuator is connected.
Soooo, on the 2024 PB, disconnecting the IC shutters triggers a CEL, that's a pain.
In other news, the Injen IC fits perfectly, as does the Mishmoto license bracket relocate.
