Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Copilot 360 2.0 Active the Blue Cruise setup? If so Ford is definitely paywalling behind the higher trim models, but then that's pretty common for pretty much all auto-makers. As long as Ford doesn't pull the subscription thing like Toyota, BMW, Merc, etc then I can't really complain about them reserving some features for higher trim models. Sure it'd be great to have some of those options on say a XLT 302a but it's not the end of the world to me if I can't.
...but Copilot 360 Active 2.0 is a subscription...first 3 years included in the price of the package and renewal required aft 3 years...

True, but is that not linked to the navigation subscription to keep it up to date so BlueCruise will work properly? Hard to see Ford locking all of Copilot 2.0 Active's functions behind a paywall, but then it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Co-Pilot Active includes BlueCruise, a forward sensing system, and Park assist. I think only the BlueCruise portion is subscription-based.

Has anyone added the multicontour seats to a regular cab truck, or even just the 10-way power seats?

The main problem that I have with the XL trim, is that it’s the worst value of all when adding options like 4X4.

Granted, it costs a lot more than $1,200 to upgrade to XLT but 4X4 is a ripoff to begin with for the F-150 when compared with the Ranger and Superduty. Adding an extra thousand and change because you ordered an XL is a kick in the nuts.

Then features that would make towing a trailer easier like the 360° cameras are unavailable for XL and strangely, in regular cab long bed XLT, not only can’t you get HDPP, but even Max Tow is unavailable. Even Securicode is no longer available for XL on the F-150. I use the keypad often while hopping in and out of the truck when backing up a trailer in the city.

Ford has made lots of questionable decisions regarding availability of options for F-150. Meanwhile allowing many à la carte options for the whole range of Superduty and Bronco, where you can get upfitter switches on both base models. Worse, only the Tremor F-150, (only available in Super Crew 145”) has that pretty random option. XL Superduty also has 360° cameras and the bed step available as separate options.

While you can add features after the fact, I almost feel that’s not even going to happen even in 1/100 trucks when the owner even had that intent to begin with. I finally just got around to adding aftermarket LED headlights on my XLT after nearly two years of ownership. It would have been a hell of a lot easier and enjoyable to just pony up the money for the OEM projector headlights when I ordered my truck but it wasn’t available and in addition to the HDPP on XLT; the Copilot 360 assist is no longer available for XLT. One has to get a Lariat or higher. If something happens to my truck, I doubt that I would order the lower trim either giving up features or adding them after the fact.
I am in the same boat as you. I wanted a few different things that after 22 was not available on the XL but did not want the extra cost of going to the XLT just to get something like 360 cameras that were previously available on the XL trim.

I had to get it with an XL package. But I also really wanted vinyl floor instead of carpeting.

HDPP is only available with the 157” and 163” wheelbases. It gets you the 7850# GVWR

The HD-HEV frame is a great option -- ford just needs to give the PB its damn proper sticker already :)

What trim level and options did you order? If you can post that, you should be able to get a close estimate on where your payload will end up.

For example, I also have a F150 SuperCrew 6.5 Bed, 3.5, FX4 with Max Tow.

Mine is an XLT 302A that I has the following options:

Sport pkg
Tow Mirrors
360 cameras
20" wheels
Tailgate step
Adj. pedals
Fold flat storage
OnBoard scales & SmartHitch
My payload is 1,777 lbs.

1,000 lbs tongue weight seems like a lot for an F150. How long is that trailer?
Mine is equiped almost the same munus the bed package/step, on board scales and 20" wheels. But i do have the glass roof, hoping that doesnt eat up too much?. The trailer is 26 total with tongue. Dry hitch weight is 775 but I was estimating propane, hitch and some cargo. I may only be around 900.

What model is yours? If it's an XLT or 501 Lariat I'm guessing your payload would be close to my 1,777 lbs. I think the glass roof is probably similar in weight to my tailgate step, 20's and Scales.

Mine is an XLT 302A. I hope your right about the roof. If I can stay close to 1800 I should be OK.
I can add helper leafs if I need to.

I bet you'd be close. I think you have the VIN, there was a way to look up payload on some Ford site.

Not quite; I’ve been driving around my truck for 16 months :D

Though, I do worry about what I would do if I needed to replace the truck and it’s not good that there are less choices for 2023 than in 2022.

Don’t forget about the 141” WB

I told the truck sales manager when I was taking test drives for most of the day back before I placed my order that I wished you could still order a totally stripped base model without any interior at all save for some vinyl panels over the doors.

The HD-HEV frame is a great option -- ford just needs to give the PB its damn proper sticker already :)
I still think that they derate the PB because of the hybrid drivetrain. Gotta make everything last until the warranty expires!

Key word being ‘was,’ apparently the remaining link has been dead for a while now unfortunately.

It was a good resource, perhaps too good!

My guess w/ pulling / restricting the heavier payloads to the XL trim is that there's too much to break on higher trim trucks. It doesn't make much sense though, perhaps they're intentionally trying to push people towards 250s? Though with the stripped down trims you can get some really high payload numbers. Really removes the RV crowd though.
