23-PU0110-RAD-PS isn't an audio update. There's many reasons updates fail. Usually it's a low battery SOC, but also file configuration errors, manifest mismatch, any number of things. There's likely nothing a dealer or tech support will be able to do for you. You'll just need to wait for it to time out, and get resent.OTA newbie here ... just bought a '22 XLT last Saturday with all of the electronic upgrades, B&O stereo, etc. Enabled Auto Updates and the first 2 went through OK. But since Wednesday morning at 1am, a pending update keeps failing. Says it's for the sound system - 23-PU0110-RAD-PS. Failures says something about "interrupted by another process". Tried to do a manual update this afternoon (Friday), and same failure. FWIW - Truck is under 3/36 and CPO warranties. Although I have had several late model Fords and currently also have a '22 Lincoln Corsair GT PHEC, all have been Sync 2/MFT or 3. Never had an issue like this before!
Is this something I just need to call in for assistance/tech support, make a trip to a dealer, or just wait for a while longer?
Thanks in advance!!

It is failing due to poor battery stats. SoC is at 48% and capacity is at 30 of 70. I recommend taking the truck for a nice 20-30 minute drive with the a/c fan speed set at 5 minimum and try to manually install it as soon as you park the truck. Or throw a charger on the 12v battery overnight and manually try to install it in the morning.OTA newbie here ... just bought a '22 XLT last Saturday with all of the electronic upgrades, B&O stereo, etc. Enabled Auto Updates and the first 2 went through OK. I'm in the same boat as you are on my 22 XLT. Wondering if you let it instal and if so any issues?Thank you!

Great! Thanks for the info.I let the truck update this afternoon. Here are the changes I noted:
- MyView, my IPC gauges, and a couple of other SYNC4 settings were reset to their defaults. Typical OTA behavior.
- I normally listen to the audio system with the volume set between 5 and 7. Post-update, I have to turn it up to volume 9-11 to get the same sound level. This isn't a big deal for me.
- The audio seems to be more heavily biased toward the front speakers post-update. I adjusted the fade toward the back of the truck to distribute the sound more equally between the front and back. Personal preference.
Overall, I didn't find anything that this update seriously "broke," so I think it should be safe for you to install.

Once that update install, you have the DSP update this thread is about in queue that will try to install right after.

An app like OBDLink can tell you your battery SOC. Undersized batteries are often an issue. I upgraded my H6 to an H8 when I started having updates fail and truck shutting down radio to save battery as soon as engine was off. H8 will fit all except Powerboost that can only fit H7.Thanks SO much!!
It's Sunday, and I plugged a battery charger in virtually all day yesterday (10+ hours). Got the same error this morning. I have a lot of errands to run today, so I'll take the truck out and it'll get some exercise ... and hopefully fill up the battery a but more!! So we'll see what happens overnight tonight.
Although ... makes me wonder if the battery is actually not up to the job and I need to get a new one. Hmmmm....
Thanks again for the info and advice!!

UPDATE:I took my truck in and had SSM 51778 performed. This is basically a hard reset (battery disconnect) and DSP reprogram to fix a couple associated DTC codes related to no of poor audio quality. The result of this dealer procedure was my system was back to full volume and sounded great … but at the next key cycle, it was back to just barely front tweeters again. So I’m not sure if the s/w update that actually cures the volume issue was flashed as a part of SSM 51778 or not. I feel like I have two different issues going. (Why ide like to see if @rugedraw can see anything fishy in my system)
Then above, @rugedraw provided to us SSM 52721 which I believe is the volume fix.
So today, I did another full factory reset (menu pick) as well as the Ford Pass reset and radio started working again (like it is supposed to sound… fantastic!)…this time through two key cycles. But tonight on third key cycle, I’m back to tweeters back to tweeters. Did another factory reset to no avail.
Yet another appointment scheduled.![]()
Your truck does show a pending DSP update, so it may be affected by the issue. Not sure if this thread is still active, but I’d appreciate it if someone could check the status of my truck. Looks like it can be checked with a VIN number? I purchased a 2021 XLT from a private party in July of 2024 and I’m not sure if the sound system just stinks (8 speaker B&O), or if the update never came through.
