What procedure did you use? I tried to do a PMI in FDRS and it said the part number does not match my VIN.The HVAC controls with the digital temps on the dials is programmable via FDRS. The soft DTC is for no programming. You can program and the DTC will be gone. I've done it. Works fine.
I have a '22 and did this exact mod. No more DTC for HVAC. ?
A PMI is for replacing a unit. I know we switched the units, but we don't follow the replacement procedure. What procedure did you use? I tried to do a PMI in FDRS and it said the part number does not match my VIN.
Thanks I will give that a try, maybe that will fix same problem with HCM that I added for headlight swap too.A PMI is for replacing a unit. I know we switched the units, but we don't follow the replacement procedure.
I simply used, "HVAC - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Control Module Configuration"
As shown in FDRS. It downloads and installs configuration data to the module.
It programmed perfectly. No issues.
Yes I have a mongoose. I have been using it to do updates and APIM updates for a 12” screen swap on a friend’s 21 RCSB. So I am familiar with the process I just have never used the programming configuration feature. I need to update the IPC also but I think the FDRS servers are down today. I swapped out my XLT cluster for the Raptor and it needs updates.Couldn't hurt. Good luck.
One word of caution...
You MUST use a mongoose cable to do the programming. The other cheaper cable won't work. Trust me. The VCI Nano is junk.
Also, make sure you plug in your laptop while programming. If the battery dies and your laptop turns off during programming, you will brick your HVAC Control Module.
This worked great thank you! It helped with the HCM as well. I just have some Forscan changes to make now.A PMI is for replacing a unit. I know we switched the units, but we don't follow the replacement procedure.

No, unfortunately, the part number the server has for your truck does not match what actually is on the truck, so you will not be able to update the HVAC with FDRS, either.I replaced my HVAC unit in my 2023 Platinum to the one with the digital display. I did the HVAC - Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Control Module Configuration success in FDRS and have no soft codes.
I received the HVAC update OTA and it failed due to mismatch. If i used FDRS to try the update would it work? I am considering this because i also replaced the SCCM to regain my heated steering wheel and when I did the SCCM update using FDRS it updated successfully, i just had to redo my forscan changes as i had just installed the new SCCM and applied changes two days before. Makes me think the HVAC may update with FDRS also even though I have been told it wont.
I am also considering installing the original HVAC module and seeing if the OTA with push through and then just reinstall the new one with the temp displays. I was receiving OTA updates every 7 to 14 days and after the HVAC failed about two months ago I haven't received another update and i have many pending.
I don't consider myself an expert with this, but having dealt with this same issue with other members, it cannot be done with FDRS. If someone knows something I don't, they can feel free to chime in.Dude, you are like the Ford Jesus. lol. you're everywhere. I wasn't going to bother you with this, just a thought since the SCCM updated with FDRS and it was a different part number also.
