I recently performed the DSM update and I’m experiencing the same issues with the PRB and the extended running of the motors. Not sure what the problem is, it seems like the module isn’t reading the hall sensors in the boards after the update. I did replace my battery as we thought that could be causing the problem, and performed a self test to relearn the running boards. But that hasn’t corrected the problem with the running boards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine started doing the same after I updated everything in FDRS and the dealership said both motors tested bad and new running boards were ordered and installed. I pick the truck up Monday so curious if it is fixed or if the software is still the problem.

Mine did this and I replaced the DSM w/ a brand new unit that installed the same software on the PMI and all was well.

I tried everything under the sun to get the old DSM to work but the software corrupted it ?‍♂

Well after working with Jesse-Infotainment he was able to get my module working correctly. My running boards are now acting the way the did before the update.

Was the dealer able to get the running boards working correctly? I don't believe the motors on the boards themselves are bad. It's probably the same issues I was having with the extended running of the motors.

Mine have been working correctly today and yesterday so far. The dealer had to replace the DSM module after the running board motors were changed because the problem still existed.

What was the fix to this? In the same boat.

I don't know what was exactly done regarding any changes made by Jesse-infotainment and Forscan, I know Jesse-infotainment worked with Forscan on the DSM module file.

Have you tried to run the DSM self test in Forscan? That will run through everything and calibrate them.
I ran the self test in Forscan and also in FDRS and it didn't fix mine. I was also getting a report of both electric motors having an electrical fault during the self test after the software was updated. The problem appears to be caused by the software since Ford replaced the motors on mine which did not stop the issue and then replaced the Drivers Door Module and the issue went away.

Ah shoot. Ya sounds like a software bug then for sure. Hopefully you got with Jesse and he can help you out better than anyone.

I am having the same issues noted in this thread after updating the DSM in FDRS while I was running the rest of the trucks updates. Ran the the self tests with no success. I do have the original as built data saved in Forscan. Do I have to purchase a new DSM and run self test in Forscan to calibrate, or is there a cheaper/simpler solution that can be done in Forscan?
