Front license plate bracket bumper damage!

For those who have this on the front of their truck, It leaves a permanent mark on the bumper which could potentially invite rust. I have used an electrical tape to introduce some protection but I am looking for a more reliable solution.

I put 3M clear PPF under mine to prevent this. As long as it’s not rubbed through, PPF should prevent any further damage and rust.

I was fortunate because my dealer used a snap on plate holder that left no marks or drill holes. That made it easier when I relocated the plate to the passenger side.

I can get an $85CAD fine if I pull it off. I hate the damn front plates!

Not really, Honda/Acura does a great job with them, they don't "rub" around with any vibration.

Mine ('23) also had those small marks across the front plate bracket when I removed it. Used a little bit of Meguiar's paint cleaner to minimize the scuffed footprint.

I like the clean look of the black silicone license plate frames. No rattling and would minimize/eliminate the paint rubbing. I've just gotten whatever was cheapest on AMZ in the past

I think the issue is that certain parts of the truck are absolutely going to take cosmetic damage unless you keep it in the garage. As an example, I just pulled my front "valence" off and may replace it with a slightly taller piece of steel extending up from the front bumper. I am also going to get clear wrap on the front of the hood, similar to the fronts of the tow mirrors, where the rocks from I20 are particularly vicious. My front license plate is held on with a pair of carriage bolts that hare mostly there to hold the intercooler intake in place, so I think my current strategy is "hope that Texas abandons the front license plate law".

I think that a conscious choice of "Apply some kind of durable protection" vs "live with some scratches and dings" is good for your mental health.

mine was loose/broken from the factory and the dealer would not fix it.
Unfortunately, CA requires a front LP.
