And so it begins...
Got my truck back from the dealership this morning after they did the PCM recall update and decided it was time to update the rest of the modules.
The IPMA update failed initially because I forgot to disable sleep mode on my laptop.
Had to restart, but so far all is moving along nicely.
Fortunately, I have a relatively short list.... only about 12 or so updates needed.

I really need to do this but I'm concerned with doing it.
I've been putting it off for months.
I bought a Mongoose cable ages ago and finally decided I was tired of waiting for Ford to update anything.
So after resolving my battery issue and getting the PCM recall update done, it was a good time to finish them off.
I'm sure I'll be manually updating again in a few months. ?

My IPMA took 2 1/2 hours with a fast internet connection.

If you have the IPC in your list. This will take 3 to 3 1/2 hours to install.
I'll have to go back and check the list after the IPMA update is complete.
That one will have to wait until tomorrow morning if it's there. Not staying up that late tonight.
IPMA update is already going to take most of the evening.

Lol I wouldn't either, but you do have a few more hours in your day, that us EST guys don't get. ;)

True, but it's still 105 in my garage and I have no desire to be out there any longer than I have to.
Fans are going, but that just moves the hot air around.
It should be down to 80 by morning.
Plus, I need to let the battery charge up more overnight on the tender. It was already at 70% SOC when I started the IPMA update. Last check it was down to 65% even while on the tender. Only a 10A unit.

Ouch! That's hot. It's 52 here in Jersey tonight at 11 pm. Be careful doing those updates using only a battery tender. Installs can very quickly fail and leave you in a mess if the voltage and SOC isn't at a constant level during the entire process. You really should be using a maintainer while doing updates with FDRS.

Really need a power supply not a charger to do these updates. I stayed above 13 volts the entire update and ended the update with the battery at 100% SOC.

Technically it is both. It depends on what mode you have it in.
It's a Victron Energy unit. Does a lot of things, including float charging (maintainer) as well as being a straight up dead battery charger. It's in charge mode now since the SOC was below 80%.
Voltage is still above 13 volts according to FDRS. 13.2 volts to be exact.

Gotcha, that's great! All should go smoothly then. Just pay attention to the 3 little green lights in the lower right corner of the FDRS screen then. Good luck, you'll be very pleased with your truck once it's fully updated.

To say this is frustrating is an understatement.
BMS keeps saying my battery's SOC is low, but it's been on the charger all damn night.
The charger went into float/maintain mode after hitting the charge parameters.

Reset BMS twice already.
Is my battery actually garbage?

Battery could be bad.

My battery was not great when I did my first marathon. It was running off power supply so I ignored some nagging messages.

My battery was nowhere near as low as yours though I was right under the requirements and ran it anyway. Looks like they don't give you a choice and that is probably a good thing.

Resetting the BMS is a myth. Yes a reset will momentarily show 100% but as soon as the BMS reads the battery it will again show the true SOC, the BMS system is working properly and can't be tricked. Your battery is most likely toast.
