ok so your saying it's the Apim that's keeping this from going thru...? I haven't seen anybody else with this issue, That's why I was trying it do the repair. I had seen a video where somebody did the module update repair and his went thru without issue.

And that's why I said he was brave. Most dealers don't even try this; they just swap out the APIM. I've seen it done successfully in FDRS only a handful of times.

I can definitely vouch for that. I've attempted 12 to date, I've only had 2 ACTUALLY complete like they are supposed to.

So is the default camera view while moving supposed to be 50/50 view or is this something I turned on playing with things. Stopped it's forward 360 and backing up is normal too. Last I played with it I thought 50/50 had to be selected.

When I press the camera button moving forward I get the same view I had the previous use (hitch, 50/50, etc.). So if you use the soft buttons to pick a view then push the button and turn off the camera... you get that view back when you push the camera button again.

It seems to reset to default if you power off.

Just realised I put this in FDRS, lol.
My default view at speed is 50/50 now. Didn't try and select another view to see if it would be a last-setting type of arrangement. This was from a cold power on. It was last week I was playing with forscan seeing if there was some other functionality to unlock.

First time FDRS user on a loaner Mongoose cable on a '21 PowerBoost I bought 2 weekends ago that was never previously updated... Been at it since about 9am this morning, about 3 or 4 updates, and just now up to v21146 rev 145.

I didn't read thourgh all 730 pages but in skimming it looks like that's an early 2022 vintage. What I'm saying is I don't think my 2 day rental license is gonna be enough ...

If the trucks never been updated and your locked out on 1.7.1 this will have to be overcome first. At that point it will take 12 to 18 hours to update all of the modules in the truck to the current levels.

Avoid Sundays if possible and remember license is two calendar days. If you buy on 10th good to use 10th 11th 12th. I'd start on a Friday evening if I had to do another marathon update session.

I also retired...I got mine yesterday morning..good till Friday midnight. Almost 3 full days if you buy the license early morning.

Yeah, there's some oddities to it like if you login right before license ends you get the 8 hours or so of that login session still.

Hey all,

I plan to order the hardware to use FDRS for updates and am curious what the latest and greatest 2024 communication equipment is to purchase for easy updating on a new Windows laptop.

(I have an unopened Livernois tuner, but I think its probably wise to fully update the truck before adding the tune)
