What to upgrade on BO Unleashed?

I have the regular B&O in my truck and I think it sounds great. And I have always been someone to upgrade my sound systems.

The biggest upgrade I made was ditching sirius/fm for high quality streaming. I am sure the system sounds way better with upgraded components but I am not audiophile and for me just using a streaming app was a big enough upgrade to not invest more money into it.

When I first got the truck I HATED the ultimate system, it sounded like everything was only coming from the center channel and after seeing folks on here say that streaming apps sounded better I tried a side by side with songs on Sirius and then Apple Music since thats what I already had and it was a night and day difference, there was clear channel separation, more punch etc.

That said, there are still some poor spots like the rear speakers are weak etc. but depending on your tastes just switching audio sources might be enough to satisfy you at least for now.

When I first got my 23, I was completely unimpressed with the Unleashed system. Then I got FDRS to do some updating. After updating the DSP it sounded like a completely different system. It absolutely blew me away with how much better and louder it was. I could actually hear every speaker in the system, including the previously nearly silent headliner and head rest speakers.

Audio source makes a HUGE difference. I only listen to lossless audio files via my iPhone, and wired will always be a better experience as well. There are some settings you can check in your phone too to make sure it's not cutting audio unnecessarily.

high quality music definitely helps over radio or standard streaming quality. I use Apple Music and have the 1TB phone option with all of my music downloaded in the highest quality. You could go even a step further with FLAC files but most of what I listen to is difficult to source and I can’t be bothered with tracking what can be down anyway.

And like others have said, it definitely helps to hard wire your phone and not use wireless AA/ CarPlay. I have that option completely disabled

Removing/disconnecting the center speaker is another popular move. I was hesitant to do this but am very happy I did now.

It is supposed to come OTA with 23-PU0327-DSP-AMP. I don’t think it got pushed to many though

The DSP update did make a big difference for me. I was able to get my dealer to do it for free because I was having the loud static issue

Spotify max quality is well below the max of the competitors. They are supposed to be coming out with a higher quality soon but it will have an increased cost, unlike Apple and I believe Deezer/Tidal
