Hey, on the road now for work in San Diego. $450 shipped, comes with Kicker Comp RT 6.75" subs.
With 400-500 watts, this thing rocks!

There is roll off like any factory system, but I think the bigger issue is the ANC (active noise cancellation) with either B&O setup. I thought I was hearing things to begin with, but a few other threads on here sorta confirm it, but the mic and DSP in the cab will even start to dial back the bass after a few seconds if you notice. Play a really heavy bass song, or even just a low freq test tone, turn it up, and after a few seconds you will here it get quieter. I haven't messed with it yet but you can go in with Forscan and disable it, but hopefully that doesn't hamper the system more overall.
I’ve noticed this with the stock B&O 8 speaker setup and it’s driving me nuts. Knew there was something going on! Bass drum changes in the same song.

Are you getting signal from the wires feeding the factory amp and this still happens with the hideaway?

Also, did you ever wind up adding an LC2i or KEYLOC?

I’m about to order a 10” hideaway but not sure about the KEYLOC or similar. Just trying to get this sounding closer to the B&O that was in my 19 lariat with the 8”in a vented box.

You need a Zen Audio NAV-TV my friend.

(Despite SGS' description it isn't a "mandatory" upgrade, however it makes a significant difference in tonal quality such that if you have above-average audio perception, you should get one)

I have a good ear but not quite audiophile level.

Again, just looking to get closer to what my 19 sounded like, full with some punch across a wider frequency.

Is there anyone that added just the kicker hideaway and didn’t feel it was worth it over the factory sub?

My current thought is
  • 10” hideaway
  • harness from SGS to get the RCA near the factory amp
  • SGS plate
  • Sound deadening for the rear of the cab.
I could always add the KEYLOC after.

I recommend the keyloc and SGS's wire harness. I used that with a mono amp and 12" RF punch shallow mount sub in home made box under the rear seat. Made the install a little easier. And i chose the keyloc over any other line output converter due to the bass roll off elimination. And with the pre-tuning SGS does, i felt confident that i wasnt entirely cutting corners as a novice car audio person.

Sounds good enough for me and got back to that 'feel your music' sound. I tried a full size sub i had and it was a terrible match. Too much compared to the rest of the system, even at minimum volume.

I have a question on the DC offset Turn-On option for the hs10. It states it only works with the high speaker level outputs.

If I’m getting the audio signal from the factory sub wiring, can I use the high level speaker input option, or would I need to use the low level since it’s already filtered for lower frequencies?

That’s where I got my info. What’s not clear to me is if I can use the stock sub signal and set it to high-level input knowing the signal is already modified for a sub. My preference is to use the DC offset to avoid tapping a a switched turn on lead.

Well not sure what the stock signal is, but you should be able to. They are pretty easy, power/ground/signal

And soon, we will have a bigger one...HS12. :)

On the amp, high level and low level inputs don't refer to the frequency range, they refer to either a full power input (high level) or a pre-amp input (low level).

In your case (and my setup as well), if you are using the wires that feed the stock Ford OEM subwoofer as the inputs to the amp, those are high level power, even though they are only sending a low level frequency. Confusing I know.

Ah, didn’t realize it wasn’t referring to frequency. Thanks!
