Looks like I had a bad internet connection. Hotspot to the phone and clicked run again. And it went through

I bought a 100ft cat6 cable from amazon so I can run it from my router into my garage without issue, that gives me a hard wired connection. I think the cable cost me under $20. I realize it's one more thing you gotta buy to make this work, but it was worth it to prevent the signal from dropping

I got the IPMA completed along with ABS and some others. This on an Oct 2020 build where the Sync version is blank and system updates can’t be configured. This is what it is showing right now. Any specific order I should follow to update?

Grab that APIM update and cross your fingers. You'll get out of APIM purgatory soon enough!

Ok…so I performed the PCM update, then the APIM update (never told me to remove USB) & all ”passed”, it’s updated (have Full Screen CarPlay)…then a TCU update popped up in FDRS, so working on it…how long after USB plugged-in before getting Restart notice…or are some not having to Restart truck with TCU update?? It said Software Updating (for TCU) then stopped…is it done?

Update…never got notice to Restart truck, so just waited until 30 mins after plugging in USB Drive and Restarted anyways…got the prompt to Remove USB…removed it & completed rest of it in FDRS…everything ”passed“ & is good.

So continued with rest of Module updates…all went well!

P.S. - Updated DDM & PDM…couldn’t figure out where to run the “Window Initialization“…but Auto Power Up/Down still works on both…so I guess it doesn’t matter, or is not needed anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have cable at work and could’ve made one but didn’t think about it until the morning I was gonna be doing this but I moved my router to the garage where the fiber converter is and I had a cable long enough in my bag so it’s now hardwired and closer to the truck.

does everyone’s FordPass app update so it no longer shows whatever ota you were stuck at? Example mine says 2.7.4, will it say that forever unless my truck ends up with an actual ota instead of using fdrs?

what is the latest sync version everyone’s actual screen is showing?

The current sync version is 22293 r.610. Fordpass will send a notification of ota update, when one happens. But it does not show your current ota's or ota's in waiting.

looks like I’m totally up to date after being stuck on 2.1.1 since August. Today I drove 40 miles to Costco with my hands mostly in my pockets!

Question: I wasn’t receiving any OTA updates since August. Will the fact that I have the latest updates allow me to receive OTA updates now? I sent my cable back for a refund.

FDRS updates software with total disregard to "ota" you'll end up in the same place software wise. But you can't make any correlation between the two. Other than knowing that certain ota's align with a certain sync version.

looks like I’m totally up to date after being stuck on 2.1.1 since August. Today I drove 40 miles to Costco with my hands mostly in my pockets!

Question: I wasn’t receiving any OTA updates since August. Will the fact that I have the latest updates allow me to receive OTA updates now? I sent my cable back for a refund.

You should now be back in business for ota's now if you're fully updated in fdrs. My ots have worked consistently since last spring when I did a full update in fdrs after being stuck on the. Dreaded 1.7.1 . Alls good for me now!

Thats awesome! It’s totally worth the time it takes. I think the reason the dealerships don’t do the updates is that they don’t really want to waste the time. I find it hard to believe that they are “unable” to do it.

I also don’t know what the hell they did the last time at the dealership but my MPG went to hell. it’s way better now after the updates.

Be nice if ford somehow made them make sure a vehicle was up to date before being aloud to sell it. We all know that’ll never happen though

I checked again about an hour later and it failed, mongoose showed as disconnected. Now I have DTCs like crazy and the instrument panel is blank. What do I do?

What’s the deal with the acm asking if I’m here for a woofer install. I hit no and it says things are up to date. That would leave me with just one module at the end of this “needing” an update?!

Usually you can just restart the process. Don't freak out about the blank instrument cluster. A power cycle would probably bring it back... but go ahead and try to run the upgrade again.
