No problem! I did the same thing just connecting the black to a regular bolt in the front instead of the one with the black wire from the battery and it kept clicking. Charger worked fine after that until this evening, it won’t turn on at all. Luckily my neighbor had a charger.

As we speak, Im downloading 5gb of APIM data to my USB. I know Im making progress, but Ive been through probably 10 APIM and Gateway module updates so far. I started with my software at 2.1.1 so I had a long way to go, but I can see daylight. It might be literal daylight lol.

wow that’s worse than mine! I started yesterday late afternoon and ran into some APIM issues so I had to reinstall FDRS and reformat my USB. Im not saying this is correct, but it solved my problem in that my updates seem to be progressing well right now. I really want to get this shit done tonight instead of wasting tomorrow.

Good luck finishing it all up! Any idea how to check the battery charge percentage in fdrs? I obviously have the voltage in the corner, but want to make sure my battery is over the 80% charge hump before I start getting too far into this

push the top middle button on the charger it toggles between voltage and% charged.

My truck accessory power just turned off while downloading the 5gb to the USB drive. Had to turn accessory power back on. I hope this doesn’t affect nothing.

Alright, finally got the flash drive in and the truck recognized it but did not initiate any updates. I waited about 15 minutes. I'm downloading the update to a new flash drive now, but does anyone know the work around for when the update doesn't automatically start when the USB is in?

Nevermind, I started the module update repair utility just to discover the dealer already locked out my vin by running it unsuccessfully back in December. I've got an APIM on backorder so I think I'm stuck until it gets replaced. At least I'll get a good battery charge out of all of this

Does the VIN lock timeout eventually? I don't think it's permanent, is it?

FInally done!! 12 hours of total time and a toasted charger. Luckily my neighbor had a spare. I have everything now!! Blue Cruise, bed camera, full screen car play, etc. Why couldn’t the dealerships figure this out? It blows my mind. It wasn’t extremely difficult, but it was indeed time consuming and tedious.

I know the newer Mongoose Plus adapter is working and recommend but has anyone used the original Ford Mongoose adapter? A neighbor asked if I had a correct adapter and could do the updates for him. I have 2 of the original first gen Mongoose adapters.

I don’t know of anyone who has used this cable. So I don’t know for sure if it will work. But take a look at this page: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/FJDSSupport?categoryId=247. It still lists the Mongoose PWM as a supported cable and it is at least two generations older than the Plus most of us currently use. If that is the cable you have, it might still work. You can still get drivers for it here: https://www.opusivs.com/support/downloads

IPMA is the longest.. It will roll into the PSCM. Those will take 3-4 hours.. May want to get that out of the way.. If not.. then start with the Gateway

Apim update will not show until the gatewya is updated
