Trying to replace mine on a 501a lariat with a bench. How does the center come apart. It is different??

Those of us with the center console just removed the hockey stick trim on the sides and the screws and it pulls out. I imagine the trim on the sides of your pulls off and that *should* free up the panel for you to just pull it out?

From the pic it looks like you’re there and it just needs to be pulled. If there anything along the bottom, screws or trim, that need to come off?

Thanks. Those hockey sticks were the problem. I found they had to ‘push’ forward to free a clip and then it was all good after that.

I’m doing this now. Do I have to remove the shiny piece that runs across the top? It appears so, which then the piece around the center top wants to come off it seems.
Am I making this too hard?

You have to remove both the trim that goes around the touch screen and the trim in the center that contains the push button start.

I’m down to the starter button. Is there a better technique to get this off? I can’t tell where the clips are for sure.

Got it. I have to admit it was a bit nerve wracking even with the trim tool as I didn’t know what to expect.

Make sure you back up your HVAC as builts before swapping the module

I turned off the double honk with Forscan and wrote it. Then I disconnected, I haven’t changed the controls yet, I wanted to make sure I could do forscan
Can you tell me what steps to take to write the hvac again?
I did an initial save as factory on my first outing, is that enough?

+1 on just ordering straight from Ford, I ordered mine from Tasca last week, along with some connectors the week before, and so far crickets on all of it from them.
Every time I order from Ford, if its in stock, I seriously have it in my hands in less than 48 hours. It always gets FedEx next day for free which is awesome. About to cancel my Tasca order and just order it from Ford, would gladly pay more to get it super fast.
