Hopefully it was a medical emergency?

Only reason to be driving that aggressively, even then, shoulder pass was pretty careless.

Guy in the video drives like it's stolen IMO. Rumors have been swirling about enacting new law reserving left lane for passing only in FL, but nothing yet. Slow drivers or semis can often be seen causing traffic to slow by crawling in the far left lane or taking forever to pass. However, I find the worst semi drivers are the damn Amazon trucks. Especially on the FL Turnpike. Most of them seem to be under 21 and drive like complete idiots. Road rage and all with little regard for laws or common courtesy. Nothing "Prime" about their driving, that's for sure.

Left lane laws are great (we have that in Utah where no trailers are allowed in the left lane, and just hanging out in that lane is also illegal), but laws still dont stop people from doing it. Driving I-15 you will see trailers in the left lane all the time. The driver in the video was breaking tons of laws...

That is the primary reason for a dashcam. Way to many idiots live and drive here in FL. Also they tried to get no left lane cruising law passed Senate Bill 464, but I think it died already this year. Yeah, been here in Florida most of life, can't wait to retire and move up North to drive slow in the left lane.....

When there's no relevant info, they use our traffic billboards to let those on the way to FL know that it's "Unlawful to obstruct the left lane regardless of speed" between distance / time notifications.

They do here too, but apparently there are a lot of people who have VIP passes to exempt them

Lots of left lane cruisers here in New York. They will do 60 in a 65 in the left lane, I pass on the right more than I’d like to admit. I do not drive like that guy though lol.

We've got +10 law that basically says no court case can be held against someone unless they're at 11 over and above. On interstates you can lock in at +12 and get no attention because everyone is driving faster, but there's always that fool going that much faster. Even the automated school zone radar cams won't ticket until 11 over despite that law dropping to +5 in school / active work zones.

Pro tip, for night driving a bright flashlight sweep across the vehicles moves them every time. I've had it move them over in the daytime if you stick it out the window to make it look like a spot at the mirror. It sorta shocks them back to reality for a second and they move over. Simple and I've never had someone get mad about it. One of those 3" mini hand held spots is a very useful thing to have on hand :)

No lane restrictions for commercial trucks in Florida, they just can’t use express lanes.
That's not accurate. They cannot be in the left lane on some portions of the turnpike. In south FL.

Not even much traffic.
Ridiculous.
That semi and Budget moving van should follow the F150 to driving school as neither one have any business in the left 2 hammer lanes.
Big city interstate driving is nuts

While I do not, in any way shape or form, defend this driver, I will not judge him/her until I hear their side. I can tell you that if the only option for me to have another second with my parents before they took their last breath, that would be me driving like that any time of day, any road or weather condition.
That's fair, but that doesn't mean someone else's life should be put at risk and their families get one second less because someone is driving like a mad man

I can guarantee you though that it wasn’t the case, he’s just a jackass.

I understand the desire, but don't risk taking years away from my family so you can get a few more minutes with yours. There is a reason ambulances don't drive like that. They don't make high risk maneuvers to get around people. Yes they have the benefit of sirens; lights; and the law, and social acceptance, for people to get out of their way. But even with all that, some lives would be saved if they drove like a-holes and made it to a trauma center sooner. But how many more lives would be lost or negatively altered by accidents they would cause? If I'm in that situation I will drive faster and more aggressive I'm sure, but while also not drive in such a way that appears I am actively trying to get in a wreck like this guy was. Unless of course I get all emotional and make a mistake, since I'm human. Maybe that was what happened here, but in no way can it be looked back at in hindsight with any kind of approval.
