It's a TRUCK.... ment to do work or tow. Want comfort, get a SUV. You want Ford to give rear seat comfort without upping the cost when they remove cup holder and glove box lighting to save a few cents?

Where's the "and do this without raising the price of the truck" folks? I'm sure they'll be along soon.

No thanks. Zero interest in adding complexity, failure points, more weight, and higher costs to the price of a truck.

It's a truck, for God's sake, not a BarcaLounger.
^^^^^LOL, dude drives a platinum.

If I only cared about doing work and towing I would have bought an XL trim. Funny thing is I bought a platinum trim to do truck stuff while getting more comforts at my advanced age of 50. Ha ha . And for as much as these Platinum trims cost they should have more comfortable back seats. First world problems… I know.

You bought a truck, for you, so you personally can have more comfort, but you're worried about the back seats?

You have a chauffeur drive you around from work site to work site?

Yeah, but my dealer was fresh out of new 196 Cadillac Fleetwods, so . . .

Actually, one of my Cadillacs is the last one they built for owners to be driven in (1993-96 Fleetwood. It's different from the chevy and Buick stablemates in the back door being extended by four inches).

This would be such a nice feature to add to the higher trim levels. Of course, Ford would charge through the nose for it.
The 704AA Platinum plus plus plus option (I shudder at the thought of the price)

I bought a comfortable truck- for my family. Maybe I care about their comfort also since they’re riding in the back seats.

I actually drove a brand new, started out with 8 km on it, 2025 Escalade 750 km or about 450 miles last Thursday. It felt like my 21 XLT had the same if not better ride. The seats were nothing special. For a $100k plus SUV... not impressed at all. Hell, the radio sounded like it was one speaker in the middle of the dash. The information system was very hard to navigate. I brought back a 2021 Escalade with 37,000 km and found it no better. The only thing I liked was the auto high beams had a 5 sec delay before switching bake to high. Just my thoughts... apologies for the high jacking.

I know RAM offers this. Don't recall if you needed a trim level or standard, but saw it when shopping.

I think they also include a rear center armrest on BigHorn trims. Also I think you can get power folding exterior mirrors, again not sure if standard or option, on BigHorn. And you can get 4A transfer case on BigHorn trims. None of these features are available on the equivalent XLT F150. And apparently the reclining seat isn't available at any price.

My conclusion after going back and forth between RAM and F150 is that the Ford is better at "truck stuff" and the RAM is better at "people stuff". F150 tows better, offers hybrid with generator, more payload, more engine choices, more advanced, aluminum body. RAM rides better, is more comfortable, can't tow or haul as much, older engine (HEMI at the time) and steel body. You just have to decide which is more important for your $.

I fully wish Ford would make some of these things standard or available in lower trims like RAM (oh man.... my biggest one is 4A for winter... but you just can't justify the Lariat price jump when all you really want is 4A) but then I realize that would drive up cost even more. I think RAM gets away with it because they're spending their money on those little nice features while Ford has put it into the more advanced truck. I often wonder how much the aluminum body alone costs over RAM or GM steel. If you need to be price competitive then you're going to have to make some cost cuts elsewhere.

Presenting the MSPaint Ford UltraCab™, still the same 20 feet long as before, same U-turn across three lanes, but now the back seats recline almost as much as the front ones do! Plus you can still fit the same amount of 4x8 plywood§ in the bed!
Ford F-150 When will Ford give us reclining back seats? der

§ = Plywood must be stacked vertically. Always secure your load. Always smack the load after securing and declare loudly "That ain't going nowhere" for maximum securage. Ford Motor Co. is not responsible for pre-warped plywood purchased from big-box retailer outlets. See dealer for details. The big print giveth and the small print taketh away.
