I love my truck, but one gripe I have is the back seats. Especially at the Platinum trim, the back seats should be able to recline for a more comfortable ride. The seats are just not that comfortable for a long road trip as they sit you up too straight. I’ve seen a few aftermarket kits that say they allow recline capability for F150 back seats. Anyone have experience with those kits?

shh! Ford might hear you!

If they did that, they'd probably knock another foot or two out of the bed to make the cab longer to allow the recline!

And then we'd be pining for the now "old style" crew cabs . . .

I have never sat in the back seat on a long trip … I am driving, my kids and dog are back there and if they want more comfort they can buy their own truck …

As others have said, you will need to give up interior space or bed length. The only other option is to add complexity to the rear seats and build them with some kind of "wall away" feature like some reclining chairs. This would be a fairly extensive mechanism because you not only have to get the chair to move forward for the chair but also for head room needed. Then how much headroom do you need. A 5'9" person needs less than a 6'3" person.

I personally would hate to lose any of the huge interior space for this.

While I’d never buy a Stellantis product- the new Ram RHO (and I assume other Ram 1500 trims) have reclining back seats that look simple to operate and only take up extra space if they are in the reclined position. On our last road trip, my family of four fought to get to ride in the front passenger seat due to the uncomfortable back seats. I’m sure Ford engineers can figure this out if Stellantis engineers can.

I'm sure they could easily design them to motor forward and recline some without changing anything else in the cab as far as size. There is more than enough legroom in the back and losing a minimal amount when the seats are reclined would be insignificant.

100%

This would be such a nice feature to add to the higher trim levels. Of course, Ford would charge through the nose for it.

Where's the "and do this without raising the price of the truck" folks? I'm sure they'll be along soon.

No thanks. Zero interest in adding complexity, failure points, more weight, and higher costs to the price of a truck.

It's a truck, for God's sake, not a BarcaLounger.

I drove an 09 Tundra for 13 years. It was nice, backseats reclined and slid but did not fold up. People complained about the inability to fold up the rear seats for a flat floor so they made them fold up but then took away the adjustability. No more slide or recline. They had good rake and legroom but still, the extra recline was always a hit on trips.

I guess it was a few too many pennies to do both. I *think* Ram may be the only manufacturer that lets you have cake and eat it to on this. Not sure about Chevy.

Doesn't have to affect the cab length much. Slide back and fourth AND recline, maybe give people the choice to trade away a bit of legroom if they want more rake.

Oh well. It's funny, as a kid my family did cross county road trips in an 84 Corolla for years now I'm on a board complaining with people because I sit a tad too upright in a Crew Cab rear seat that's twice as spacious as what I grew up in. Real 1st world problems.

My kid seems to notice more than anyone else as his booster seat had a nicer angle before we got him out of it. Nobody else notices.

The more irritating thing to Me is no folding center rear armrest On the XLT. My SR5 Tundra with cloth had it, Toyota did not make you step up a trim to a Limited for it.

I’ll admit- this is definitely a first world complaint. Seems silly to complain about it with all the other stuff happening in the world. But the fact that my truck has over a $80k MSRP and the back seats have a lot to be desired as far as comfort tells you something.

The ram rear reclining setup is not power operated. You pull a lever up and recline backward. Low effort, little added complexity.

My 02 f350 crew cab..came with a couch rear seat. No fold up., it was very comfortable .
Once the fold flat, came along
Seats got thin
My solution...is rear seats are folded up ...dogs don't seem to mind
