As I sit on the fence here, I wonder what it is that would get other people to get off the fence and buy/order now?

As for myself, I'm watching for the plugin ram-charger, but with plenty of reservations, before ordering a powerboost.

But I'm skeptical enough about it that I'd pull the trigger on the f-150 now at 60/0 financing with massaging (activemotion?) seats with separate front and back lift [10 way], not just tilt [8 way], at least if I didn't have to go for an excessively expensive package for the one thing. (e.g., the high lariat with nothing I want except HUD, which can be added easily enough aftermarket).

Ideal for me (and I know there's lots of reasons I can't have it) would be a 2wd Lariat supercab, with the 7.2kw generator, HUD, and two step power running boards (not even sure those exist aftermarket, let alone ford).

And lots of extra chrome! ? ?

And a "1960 Cadillac Fleetwood" ride setting.

And maybe a bit more chrome. Nah, a lot more chrome!

But I'd settle and stop waiting for the massaging seats and 60/0, possibly even at platinum.

Them returning to reality with the pricing and some time passing with decent quality control.

Well, at least you seem to realize that's a total fantasy spec, not to be available in the foreseeable future if ever, so no reason to wait for that.

With a 142"+ wheelbase and OE shocks you'll come surprisingly close to that, IMO (I had to go to Billstein 5100's all around to 'tame the Buick / Caddy float'). :ROFLMAO:

This is my last Ford product due to all the quality control problems, recalls and absurd amount of time my truck has been sitting at the dealership broken. Ford does not build a trustworthy product anymore and the fact that the dealerships are basically out of room to store broken vehicles and chase people off with their 3+ week wait to even look at a vehicle is a sign of the problems at Ford. My truck has been broken over 210 days now sitting at the dealership...

PB only comes in 4WD as of 2024. I wouldn't trust the ordering process over being able to find you a truck on the lot you could get ~$10k off of. The HUD isn't an "easy aftermarket add-on". If you don't get a truck with it, you're not going to add it. Massage seats are easy to add, just $2k in parts roughly. The longer you wait, the less options you have.

What has been going on with your truck if you don’t mind me asking? I’m going to be pulling the trigger on a 2025 lariat fx4 3.5 EB next year. Out of all the new full size trucks, the F-150 seems to be the best still. I’ll be coming from a 2022 Tacoma and REFUSE to touch the new tundra with all the engine problems it has and is still having, I also refuse to touch the FCA/Stellantis/Fiat 1500 truck and the GM’s are garbage too with their lifter problems.

We are waiting to decide between either a 2025 F150 CrewCab Lariat with the 6.5ft bed and 5.0 Coyote OR the 2025 Chevy Suburban Premier.

We don't have a large vehicle currently, but we're flexible with the sequence of what we would buy. Part of it is going to be based on market pricing of the 2025 Chevy Suburban. If dealers don't appear to be able to get to the $8000-8500 off MSRP that they are currently doing on 2024 Suburbans, than we would opt to go with the 2025 F150 and revisit the full size SUV choice in 2026 or 2027.

If I were to ever jump ship to another manufacturer other than Ford it would because of the local dealerships. Mike white Ford in Coeur d'Alene Idaho ripped my father-in-law off so bad on a trade-in of his Mustang for a little ranger truck it almost made me physically sick. A retired Vietnam veteran and lifelong power lineman, now walking in using a cane gave him crappy trade in value and oversold him on a used truck with 10,000 miles.
The other dealership Corwin Ford in Spokane Valley, is okay but it takes weeks to book an appointment. And the last time I was there they left my truck windows open overnight and I had snow and rain sitting in the cups of my door panel. Frozen solid. Together me and the service writer pulled the ice out of the door panel...
I would switch to another brand that had better service for when I need it

Be prepared for a long wait. I ordered a 24 Platinum 702A, 6 Nov 2023 and I'm being told I will be in production 9 October 2024. Just over 11 months from order to build. I still don't believe.

I'm not sure if building lower trim F150s FIRST in 2025 is a great strategy. Here's a snapshot from my local dealer and they appear to have a problem moving lower trim 2024 F150s:

Wow - almost a year is ridiculous. Do you know what your priority code is? Also, was there any restrictions/constraints that delayed the order? The HUD was restricted most of the year as far as I know.

I ordered my through Granger and was told it would be 6 to 9 months to get my truck. It is now over 11 and it will be another month or two to be delivered to Granger. It is what it is.
