What is this? Aluminum foil wrapped cable

Behind the axle is what looks to be some kind of cable wrapped in aluminum material. I've watched videos on other 2024 Lariats and didn't see that back there. Anyone know what that is? Seems somewhat like an afterthought.

It looks like an afterthought. No surprise there. Hope it doesn`t get hung up on something and you lose your brake

Heat insulation. Both of my fords have had recalls over the ebrake wires so they appear to be taking their protection up a notch.

This was at the dealership earlier, I only took 2. Didn't happen to look at other ones for comparison.

Looks fine, the foil wrap is just making it stand out. That's the proper routing and is secure.

Yea, the foil and the plastic home depot zip ties were making it look really weird.

Some early 21 models came with no heat shielding and there was a recall for that. Everything here looks tip top.
