Three dead MC batteries in three years on a 2021. There would have been a fourth but the forum members here verbally beat into submission to get a H8 Napa or something better. Got 79.3782 miles on this new 2025 F150 and the battery's still going strong. Hope it holds up this time.
That`s about par for the course with ford on noise issues even when you hit them in face with it. They need to have their hand held and be spoon fed since it requires thought. They sure make it difficult for a guy to be a long time customer and repeat buyer with all these problems right out of...
I'm not following you here. Did they come up with a reason or a fix for the noise or just tell you everything's "normal" and ignore it? I'm real familiar with that line and ford's injun ears in those regards. Since new I've had 1/4" foam backer rod taped to the top edge of my 21's driver's...
I know exactly how you feel man. It`s such a stab in the back to drive a new ford off the lot and immediately or thereabouts have truck problems. At least on yours they have an answer and are going to fix it. Sounds like your dealer is first class. That`s big with stuff like this. Good luck
I think the world agrees with you and you`re so lucky you have a handle on things way above the average person. I just can`t get over a company knowing they have a problem like this and not being more reactive. Sure it`s just a battery but what about someone stuck out in the cold, or taken out...
Everybody is replacing them at their expense instead of waiting for a breakdown. I don`t know what`s up with ford either and have gone on a rant all over the forum with basically the same complaint, ford is overusing its customers as guinea pigs for their R&D dept. If you have a bunch of bad...
I don't have any skin in the bolt issue. A good part of my life I traveled the state of Wyoming and into the neighboring mountain states working on electrical, mechanical equipment and systems, then correcting problems caused by others. I also had to deal with equipment that was engineered by...
You`re my hero. I retried the start sequence as suggested and it worked just as you described. I got interrupted during the timing of it but I know the truck did idle for well over 15 minutes. I can just leave this useless constant crashing ford pass uninstalled and move on into winter. Your...
Still glad you didn`t lose property or bodily injury. I spent some time on the battery issue today and learned some things. Interstate batteries no longer available locally plus there is some reset things that need to be done like you said. So once again you, Snake and Rick nailed it, probably...
I don`t dispute any of that Snake. Anything man made can and will fail. The time frame was 2021 and these trucks were new to buyers, dealers and the service people. Just like during 911 or covid , the same type confusion reigned during this truck`s release. There`s been more recalls and problems...
You`re sort of a rebel to nearly get escorted off your property by the Sheriff. They weren't messing around back then either. I`m non PB so I don`t think I have the same resets as you. I`ve disconn`d and reconn`d my battery multiple times. When less than a year old, the truck seized up...
That was the worst fire in state history and being proactive might have even saved your life. I`m going to make a preempted strike on this battery issue and replace it. XLT so a little extra space in the tray. Napa here are dix so I`ll go Car Quest for the Interstate. I`ll see what $ dif is, I...
I got time to get things all scoped out (i think!) and measured to see what will fit under the hood. I`m non PB so I should have good choices. I`ve had good luck with Interstate batteries in the past but I had good luck with ford in past so that ain`t saying much anymore. There`s a good stand...
I guess that`s where I`m at on things, you`re in Wyoming and I`m on the road a fair amount also. It`s 2 hours from my house to the nearest Walmart just for a perspective on distances. Breakdowns is no fun anywhere of course. My third ford battery will be out of warranty, 1 year in January. I`m...
Hey Bill,
Did fomoco pick up the tab on your battery you added after just four months use? I`m on my third f battery non PB and it seems to be holding, knock on wood, but curious of what you had to do to recoup the cost?

Guy you had me so jazzed on this that I went out and tried it on my truck. Did exactly that and the second start button push killed the truck and red flash on the remote. I`m sure, or not, they`ve changed it on later models. Thanks for the input.

Thanks HammaMan, I know you rule. I`ve spent hours with dealers and on the phone with f pass and we get it to work for a few days maybe a week ten days then it says it`s still starting the truck but it`s stopped. So if I have to go visually check to see if it`s running all the time because it...
I`m well versed on the dead battery issue now and on the second battery. I think. Maybe third. Not the battery. Haven`t hit the 60k mile mark because the truck is so miserable to be in. f pass chaos been going on for years. Another reason to change fomoco`s slogan to ford, "Trouble Day 1".

I can only go up to 15m idle time on the programing screen which would solve everything if I could set it at 30m. Just more sloppy engineering with these trucks. Why would you be able to set for 30m on a questionable app but not in the truck on the main programming screen? Senseless.
