Was bored and just thought I would see what is possible. Have the Ford cover on order

Front end there are some threads on other forums where people drilled and tapped the cover or the differential housing itself for a plug while on the truck. No way to remove cover without lots of work.

Yep……..I’ve seen a few use a fluid vacuum to change the lube as well.

Started to replace the spark plugs. Checked gap. Removed one coil, and realized the spark plugs were 9/16. The only size spark plug socket I do NOT own! Plugs look correct. Reinstalled coil. Ordered a complete set of magnetic spark plug socket set.

I bought one of the magnetic sets last year when I had a Toyota. The magnetic sets are so damn nice as compared to the old rubber ring models.

Glad to see I am not the only one who re-used the OEM shock bolts, even though Ford says to toss them and replace with new ones ?‍

Well, the truck has 4500 miles now is not "old". The bolts/nuts are new and in great shape- Key is torquing while on load/normal position, then torque-

I understand. I changed mine at about 9K miles and didn't know I was supposed to use new bolts, I just discovered it later. I downloaded the workshop manuals a couple of weeks ago and discovered that there are many bolts and fasteners that Ford says you need to toss and get new ones.

yes, those are called “torque to yield” bolts. They built essentially stretches, went torqued. With some of these bolts that clamping load is only designed to be stretched once. The bolt strength is reduced after the one torque sequence.

Not my F150, but there's no thread for what I did FOR my F150 today... I put on the camera/yaw sensor kit on my trailer this weekend. It's driveable currently, but I want to do a few more things to the trailer before I hook it up and get this all set up. I want to check the bearings/brakes, paint the tongue (it's starting to rust), and put some more RV sealant on, it has a leak in the front somewhere.

I'm also going to build out a little bulkhead to protect where the camera cable comes up through the floor, and also house all the excess wire. These cables are crazy long. I suppose that's a good thing to accommodate all kinds of trailers, but most of us will have some wire management to do to rein in that excess.
