Just wondering what you guys use for undercoating. Do you DIY or hire someone? I’ve heard good things about Fluid Film.

I just had NHOU do "Boss Wax" which is for new vehicles. They touch it up every 2 years for $150. The initial application was pricey though...

Every once in a while I get under my truck with Corrosion X and a few rags and just go to town. So far the surface rust has been kept to a minimum and my rear diff is still looking good.

I’m surprised no one on here is mentioning wool wax. It’s lanolin based, holds up way better than fluid film, and doesn’t trap moisture underneath like traditional undercoatings. I just paid a shop to apply wool wax to my 2021 since I live on the east coast with road salt. It came out perfect and I wish i had pictures but my truck is currently in the body shop. It comes in both clear and black and its non-toxic if you want to apply it yourself which is great.
I've been using krown for last 2 vehicles but did also inquire at the local shop to apply the wool wax for my 21, price tag was around $1500(cad). Price tag was a little high

I paid $500 for a complete undercarriage treatment so it seems they are quoting a little high. Not sure if you have done this already but you can go to the Wool Wax website and type in your zip code to find other local application shops near you who might be able to give you a better price.

The Line-X undercoating is $299 with a lifetime warranty.

I recently saw my 2015 F150 Lariat at the dealer for an oil change and looked at the undercarriage while up on the rack. It looks as good now 9 years later!

The new owner who bought it in 2019 does keep it washed and detailed.

Thanks. I'm in Canada but did see one shop about an hour away on that link. I'm already 3 applications in now on Krown.

I’ve used rubberized undercoating for years and swear by it! Not only do I
Live in the northeast but drive my truck on a beach and sling salt water and mud underneath it several days ea week. Just traded in my 2018 and the frame was cherry! Just did my 24 with Rusfre, you can buy a gallon on eBay for less than $30. Bought a cheap gun and covered the frame and running gear heavily and have some left over. I even removed the rear bumper and coated the entire inside after covering the electrical connectors. I also had a wand on the gun and sprayed woolwax down the inside of the frame. Who wants to crawl underneath and do that yearly?! I tried one of the other products you have to reapply every year or two and the beach sand stuck to it creating a mess.

I go to Mass Mobile Undercoating and pay them to spray my truck every 2 to 3 years with NH Oil mineral based oil with rust inhibitors. The guy charges $350 to do a pickup truck and around $275 to do a small SUV. The frame on my truck is in mint condition because of it.

I used the Wools wax black on my daughters 2010 Toyota Corolla with a cheap spray gun and it worked out pretty good so far. That job really sucks though so I’ll never do that again. I’ve also used fluid film and PB blaster surface shield in the past, but those products don’t last more than a year. Recently I discovered CRC sp 400 corrosion inhibitor spray that I think is good for protecting new metal parts because it penetrates deep into the metal but then dries to a wax like layer that protects the metal.

for a new vehicle I would, for the first few years anyway, just get a subscription to a car wash with an undercarriage wash and take it through regularly. Those car wash subscriptions are usually around $30 per month.
