What is involved in applying MY23 SD APIM to my Job1 MY21 XLT 301A? What risks does it pose? I already have Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 with (I think) all of the driver aids except blue cruise and parking assist. Trailer BLIS is enabled.

I'm comfortable doing a bit of light hacking but don't want to risk bricking my truck.

It does not have to be SD; it can be from a 2023 F150, as well. Unfortunately, I had help getting mine done since it goes beyond my scope of knowledge, so I cannot offer you instructions on what needs to be done.

Do you know if it involves licensed software other than FORScan? E.g., the Ford official maintenance software, whatever it's called?

No, it is done exclusively with FORscan. That much I can tell you.

IF BC updates come to our trucks that should eventually include an IPMA update and that might get us whatever software level the 2023 trucks are using. Not counting on it, but it could happen.

I believe this is correct. If that is the case, the only thing needed to do to activate it are the two FORscan changes to add the toggle switch to the touchscreen.

I just want the split 50/50 view to work without using trailer function. Like the others on Forscan thread I got the button on the APIM because it's high enough version, but the IPMA apparently needs to be the 2023 software. Ugh.

Thats actually the correct values to change. I have had this for a few months but had to update my IPMA software to a 23. You have to have a trailer connected or a light plugged into the trailer connector with enough voltage draw for it to work. I used an old Rigid Industries pod light to test. With your truck being a 23 it may just be forscan changes for you.

So you can’t toggle it on until you have a trailer hooked up? I have the toggle for it now but it’s greyed out I’m wondering if it’s going to be able to be selected once I have a trailer hooked up or if I need to update my ipm

Your truck is a 2021. Adding the toggle with FORscan does not add the actual feature.

My truck is a 22 but I get it so I’ll need to update it to the latest version? Will I be able to do this via forscan?

Yea, you can use FORscan to do it, but how to get the necessary files and how to do it goes beyond my scope of knowledge.

No, sir. Dealers don't use FORscan. It's a third party software.
