SO I have posted about the "boat like ride" of my used 21. Initially I was told to install a rear sway bar, which I did with out improvement. Others have said new coil overs and rear shocks, which I have been considering the Eibachs.

Today I stumbled across an old post on another forum talking a suspension issue the guy was having and he was told to look at his door label for his Spring Code. Spring code? Interesting!

So in looking at mine for my 2 wheel drive it is 22BB. SO can anyone help me decipher this? Is it possible that I can find a chart of Ford codes and maybe using Ford parts, tame my trucks ride?

My old 13 2 WD was TTPP.

Thanks

What tires and what pressure are you running?

Mine came with Goodyear Wranglers. Door sticker says 36psi and it was too soft in cornering. Tire max is 56 (IIRC). Bumped them to 40 and it stiffened it up nicely. Also added the 1000lb. version of Sumo Springs in the rear and helped with towing.

In my opinion, the mods I would do in order:

1. Rear shocks - bilstein 4600 for stock height, 5100s if you want to lift the front

2. Rear sway bar

3. Front shocks

1 & 2 are easily reversible and self installable. I did just the rear shocks on my current truck and am happy. On my 2015 I did shocks + sway bar and that was awesome.

I run them cold at 36, the original Goodyears that came on it. I will see what 40 does, thanks.

Before your changes, were you experiencing what I am?

F150's are bouncy trucks. My brother has a RAM and when he rode in my truck he said it is a lot bouncier than his truck. The rear shock are way under-damped. I'd start there with the 4600's or 5100's if it is a 4wd. A lot of guys have said it is a big improvement.

I went with Bilstein 5100's front and rear. For sure less boaty. Up front, I went with 1.5" pucks plus 1.5" lift with the Bilsteins for a total 3" lift up front and Rough Country upper controls arms to be able to properly align the front end. SUPER happy with the results.

Thanks, remember this is a 2wd truck, I think my next move will be to get some rear shocks and start there. Hopefully some black friday sales soon. Still eying the Eibachs.
