Those days sneak up and arrive sooner than one would expect and now not as agile as I once was. Perusing the net for a step solution to get into my bed for my F-150, I found a folding step that attaches to corner of the bed and folds away underneath when not needed. I then found a ladder that attaches to the tailgate (inside) as another solution. Wanting to know if anyone would recommend one over the other. Climbing on the tires or sitting on the tailgate and dragging my feet up and over is getting rather old...:frown:. Just curious if anyone has used either or and their thoughts on easiest way into the bed.....Many Thanks in advance.

Doesn't the tailgate have a step in it? I'm not certain if this is standard or an option though. Mine has it.

Thanks but wasn't looking to spend a couple thousand dollars and possibly voiding my warranty....Cheers.

I haven't seen that before, must be an option since mine doesn't have that step.

The step that folds under the edge of the bumper works great.. Had one on my last truck.

I thought it was gimmicky when I bought my truck and thought I'd never use it......I use it every time I need to get into the bed now. Most useful thing on the truck.

@Cobra129 perhaps you can find a matching color tailgate with the fold-away step from a junkyard for cheap.

Had the fold up step on my 2013 F-150. It works but the tail gate step is better.

I have the AMP corner step and use it every time I get into the bed. It has paid for itself a 100 times over through the 2 F150s I've had.

Are you referring to the optional integrated step that is located inside the tail gate? That would be wonderful, but it can't be backfitted.

I had the hidden tailgate step on my 2012 F150. Bought a 2023 Lariat in January and assumed it was standard this day and age....you know what they say a "assuming". Lesson learned. Haven't decided which one to install yet. I'm not crazy about having a ladder on my tailgate.

Agree, would want to drill any extra holes in the tail gate if I don't have to look like I'll install the AMP step since it works with the gate up or down....Thanks!
