No, Ford released the IPMA update for the 22's last week and the 21's this week. No side loading required. FDRS is only needed.
Did you side load the IPMA update? I thought only '23 had it.
nope as stated it’s out now. I have a sub. To FDRS so updated that way.

Anyone have an idea when this IPMA update will be available for the 2021s via OTA? If ever….

Since I did this update and enabled the cameras with turn signals, I have been wishing I could use it without a trailer attached. Does anyone know of a way to make the truck think there's something attached when there's not? I have tried plugging in a lighted 4 prong tester into the trailer plug, but it doesn't think a trailer is attached. Even though the tester lights up when you put on a turn signal or press the brakes. There must be a way to trick it.

Thanks

You lose bluecruise with trailer attached so you have to choose.

I just want to be able to use it. So how do we trick it?

Needs enough resistance for the truck to see it -- resistors? Some LEDs don't eat enough current to acknowledge the trailer. Someone needs to test the cutoff amperage for registration. Some of those hitch red light things can trick it but I don't know.

Yep and also lane centering as I found out. But still worth it.

I tried what you did to no avail, but as @HammaMan suggested maybe some old school filament style hitch lights, like what the wreckers put on the back of cars they are towing? You could toss them in the bed

I have a 23 Lariat 502A. I tried to make the above changes to enable the camera view on turn signals. I was able to make the APIM change, but was unable to make the IPMA change. I could not find the IPMA module on FORSCAN. I am a beginner at utilizing FORSCAN, and need a little. Thanks

When connecting to the vehicle, select "no" when it asks if you want to use a saved profile. This will force it to scan for all modules. Also make sure your Forscan is fully up to date.

I just got my truck back from service, where the had some software updates.. Is there anyone on here with access that could see if they updated my IPMA so I can enable this? I don't see why they wouldn't have just updated everything, but you never know..
