Scratch after windshield inspection

i took my ‘22 in for the windshield leak inspection and noticed a scratch/gouge in the a-pillar grab handle and near the windshield. The glass company must have scratched it at the dealer. Think this is worth mentioning to the dealer or just move on?

That would irk me. It bothers you enough to make a forum post about it, so my recommendation would be to call the service manager and see if they'll let you send them a photo of it (unless a dealer stop in is easy). Best case, Ford replaces the A-pillar trim and bills the glass company. Worst case, they claim it was already there, but you shouldn't have to pay for or live with their mistake.

I had similar damage to mine after the dealer outsourced a water intrusion issue to a body shop. They took care of it no questions asked, both sides and the grab handle covers. Not a cheap vehicle, those are right in your face, and a touch point used everyday. The correct tools to avoid this cost less than $15.

Absolutely let them know. That’s what keeps crud companies with dishonest or incompetent employees from doing well financially and continuing to do business like that.

Dealer will almost certainly pony up and will hopefully get after the glass company as well.

In a perfect world the dealer would have inspected and noticed before you got your truck back. If you notify them of your mishap maybe they’ll start.

I appreciate everyone offering advice. I decided to reach out to the dealer and send pics. The service advisor said he will look up the parts and see what he can do to get it taken care of. Here’s hoping.

Go after them! Force them to make it right. They have damaged and de-valued your vehicle.

Mine is at dealer now getting inspected. They have to remove the windshield to inspect the seal which is rather invasive lol.

I’m driving my wife’s car during the interim( she’s out of town) and after many months it still remembers me!
