Yes, I have thought about taking the FDRS plunge. Something I will now consider more. I appreciate all the info.

Good evening, I’ve got an OTA update that has been stuck in “not complete” status for a month. I’m wondering what may be causing it to not finalize. Anyone have any ideas? 1FTEW1EP5MKE79798 is my VIN. Thx

I now have a 2024 (VIN: 1FTFW6LD5RFA87849) on Sync v23335 Rev 1099 and I received an email from Ford Early Access Program asking to complete a survey on Software Update ECG-24.2.4.10. I haven't received an update since I took possession of the truck on July 8th.

(My wife's 2024 Escape has received 3 updates since May.)

Can you please lookup my VIN and see if I have waiting updates?

"Not complete" means the OTA failed for some reason. In your case, this same update has failed twice due to a manifest mismatch. The files that are trying to be sent to your truck do not match what your truck is supposed to get, so the update failed. There is nothing you did wrong or could do differently. Eventually, the correct files will be sent.

Confirmed that no updates have been sent to this truck yet. I have seen many people on several forums report that they got an email survey for an update they didn't receive, so you are not alone there. Modules with pending updates are below.

Truck is on Sync 23159 which is one version behind the latest. No recent OTA history. Modules pending updates are below and this list does not show APIM, GWM, TCU and possibly an IPC update you are missing to be fully up to date.

Thank you. Could having a PCM tune cause the PCM file issue you referenced?

Yes, it could, and if the update did go through, it would wipe your tune. My truck is also tuned, so I have auto-updates off for that reason. I had my tune wiped once and I don't want it to happen again. In my case, it is fairly easy for me to get an updated tune from Livernois, but it's just not worth the hassle to me.

Thanks. My tune is through Livernois also. I guess I need to return to stock, let the PCM update go through, connect and send the new strategy code to Livernois after the OTA update? Is that what you did? It does feel different driving so it’s hard to tell if it wiped the entire tune or not.

When it happened to me, the PCM update went through even with the tune on the truck. At that point, I had to submit a tune request form to them, plug the calibrator tool into the laptop so it downloaded the new tune from them and then re-flash the tune on the truck.

Thanks. I’m going to guess that my tune is still loaded then. Maybe it reset the transmission learning or something and that’s why it feels a little different. The fact that the OTA failed likely means nothing was updated or something like transmission learning restarted. Not sure how to really tell unless you know of a way.

Nothing was updated for sure. The OTA never got to the point where it downloaded any of the files.
