My 2024 F150 with only 1,600 miles recently started shifting way smoother. Any chance you can look up the OTA history to provide some insight on what Ford changed?

Much appreciated, when I bought the truck the camera button didn't work but if I was driving and pressed it a message would come up and say not available while in motion. But on a similar truck also a 2021 I would press the button and the backup camera view would show up. (Neither truck has 360 camera)

It's asking you to have it towed do a dealer because the FDRS software they have is the only way to get it out of inhibit mode. Without FDRS, there is unfortunately nothing you can do. It is rare for an OTA to brick a vehicle, but that's what happened here.

So it was a BCM update on @APWOcala truck.
Just curious, but the FDRS routine necessary to get the truck out of inhibit mode.......

Just a second attempt at the update?
Or a PMI against the module?
Or maybe nothing more than a module reset and the hung update completes?

In the same menu where you would find the PMI for the BCM, there is a guided routine there specifically for getting vehicles out of inhibit mode. Due to the recent issue where the BCM cannot be updated without an NFTSA login, it is possible that the non-dealer FDRS user can no longer do this themselves like they used to. However, if this happens to someone with FDRS, we have a work around.
